“He’s jealous,” Liam interrupted. Grip tightened, enough to sting. “You trust me, right?”
“Yes,” I said, voice trembling.
“Good.” He let go.
At home, the elevator ride was tense. When we stepped out, he pressed me against the wall, kissed me hard, hands rough. In bed, he took what he wanted fast, like marking territory. Then he fell asleep, leaving me aching.
I lay awake, thigh throbbing. Five purple fingerprints already showing. The tapping, the hidden touches, the pinches when I tried to resist. Small things. Subtle. But adding up.
