Her Last Gift

Her Last Gift

Tears filled my eyes, but I did not let them fall. “It is fine, Mrs. Cardea. I should not have been in the way.” Daniel walked over and lifted my arm to look at the red skin. He frowned, but not out of concern. “What a shame. Her skin is damaged. It will not feel the same anymore.” He turned to Morgan with a helpless smile. “Mom, use cold water next time. And this rug came from overseas. It is very hard to clean.” In that moment, something inside me broke. It was not dignity, because that had disappeared long ago. It was the last small piece of hope I held for this world.

THE LAST INITIATE

THE LAST INITIATE

She cast a sly glance at me and held the book very close to her chest. “Do you know what this is?” “No, your Utmost Prosperity.” “It is the most important book you’ll possess till you die…that’s what it is.” Slowly, she held the book with her right hand and suddenly flung it at my chest. In a twinkle of an eye, a purple puff of smoke enveloped my abdomen, while the book disappeared immediately. Soon, I began to feel a strange force inside my chest, as if my lungs were frozen. My breathing became slightly laboured, while my gaze remained on her Utmost Prosperity, as if she’d hypnotised me.

The Last Flame

The Last Flame

Eliza has a playful smile on her lips which causes Maddie to blush hard. Her heart pounded hard against her chest and all she could do was avert her eyes. She suddenly stood to avoid getting teased by Eliza and the latter just decided to stop already. Maddie went to the balcony and the sight of the lake made her remember her last memory in Theo’s world. She unconsciously touched her neck while gasping for air. Suddenly, Maddie felt like her lungs were getting filled with water again. It was getting heavier and heavier until she fell to the floor.

Sinful Nights With Adeline

Sinful Nights With Adeline

His usual chirper voice was now raspy and his breathing shallow. He turned ghost white, his eyes rolling back into his head until they are replaced with white. His smile faded and his body fell onto the ground. He exhaled on a strangled moan. I would have given anything in the world for that smile and that breath to have not been his last breath.

A Breath Away from Death

A Breath Away from Death

“It’s so hot, and this is an outdoor party. She’s suffering from heatstroke, yet she lies on the ground and continues to pretend. A cold drink will fix her right up!” Suddenly, I felt like I was about to die. My heart pounded violently, and my shoulders started shaking. I gasped for air, but nothing reached my lungs. My throat let out harsh, ragged breaths. The guests saw that something was wrong with me and stepped back in fear. “She… she’s not actually dying, is she?” Ethan’s eyes widened. His whole body trembled as he froze in place.

TOOK MY BREATH AWAY

TOOK MY BREATH AWAY

"I'm sorry I asked. . . ." "Don't be. You didn't mean anything by it." She paused. "My mother and father were given this Book for their wedding, but my mom was the one who claimed it first. She read it all the time, especially whenever she was going through a hard time in her life. There's something about this book and the story in it, it's always give me the answers I am searching for." I thought about the miscarriages. Amelia went on. "She loved to read it at night, before she went to sleep, and she had it with her in the hospital when I was born. When my father found out that she had died, he carried this book and me out of

Countdown to My Last Heartbeat

Countdown to My Last Heartbeat

Only because our son begged to go to the amusement park, my wife, Nyla Frost, a wealthy heiress, ended up in a car accident on the way there, leaving her permanently paralyzed from the waist down. To punish us, she slashed our daily allowance to a mere ten cents. For the past three years, my son and I had no choice but to survive by scavenging through trash every day, even fighting the dogs for scraps. One day, my son was so hungry that he lost all reason. He ate a few crumbs of a cookie that our family doctor had accidentally dropped on the floor. My wife flew into a rage, accusing him of having filthy, thieving hands. As punishment, she made him stand outside in the pouring rain for th

A Kissing Spell

A Kissing Spell

It was cruel. “Samil…” I whined softly, yearning to see him even one last time. Suddenly, I heard something collapsing. Perhaps it was a piece of the wall. I vaguely saw a light, much brighter than fire. Then I saw a dark shape, a silhouette. It was getting closer. I took another breath, pulling the hot toxins into my lungs and realized that this was it… my last breath.

I wish this book would never come to an end, i will miss Samil and kass greatly. I wouldn't mind if you can give us few bonus chapters to take a sneak peak into their lives and marriage. But all in all, the book is an emotional roller coaster that really kept me on my toes. i hope to see more.

Stowaway

Stowaway

I don't want to die. Remembering the last words Mark last said to me. "Promise me you'll never give up, no matter how hard it gets." I send one last desperate kick of my legs, determination pushing me upwards. I haven't come this far to be defeated. My lungs crave for the oxygen they so desperately need as the darkness now surrounds me, the black spots merging together. The cold night air hits my face as I finally suck in the much-needed oxygen, my lungs finally able to breathe again; I try to hold in my cough as I vomit the salty water from my lungs.

Breathe Me

Breathe Me

Love can hit you when you least expect it. It could be a soft easy wind that caresses you and gets stronger over time till it absorbs into your body and heart. Other times it can hit you like a gale-force wind and take every breath you will ever have, and breathe life into the person who took it in the first place. Laken stole my breath. She was my gale-force wind, and I will gladly give her every breath I have just to keep her safe, alive, and mine. If I have to live without her then I don’t want my breath. I don’t want anything but her. I will go to hell and back to get her from the grips of death.
