A curious sense of calm would spread through my chest whenever I turned to look at the faces of those who were given another chance at life. Life continued on.

The apparitions circled around us seem to shield us from the other things lurking in the darkness. “Our names now spoken, so shall they be heard! Our spirits forever intertwined, never to be severed.” She calls out to the spirits. “Spirits of the East, take with you my blessings and thanks. Hail and farewell! Spirits of the South, take with you my blessings and thanks. Hail and farewell! Spirits of the West, take with you my blessings and thanks. Hail and farewell! Spirits of the North, take with you my blessings and thanks. Hail and farewell! I leave this place as it was before, to take from the universe and leave it with more!” Asteria calls out.

Emma's PoV "We need to talk!" I spat while catching my breath. Aliza's eyes immediately brighten and I see her fangs coming out as she sees my body. All the red liquid on that, it's blessed water. "What is this?" She speaks while coming to my direction and her gaze is all over my body. "This is blessed water." "Blessed water?" She says while coming towards me. "No, no don't touch it-" But before I could warn her, she did what I was telling her not to. I hear her scream the other second and she falls across the room.

“Good at least that is one less thing we have to deal with.” They all gathered the group around a picnic table. Mack ran up holding a bull horn. “I just found this in the barn.” “Thanks.” Aaliyah said, taking the bull horn. “Listen up,” she said. “Most of you know already why we are here. For those of you that don’t all will be explained. Most of you have stuck around because you wanted to know why you got it in the first place, but I would like to say a few things first. That urge you had to be here is gone, because a God kidnapped the one who sent out that calling.” Aaliyah began saying.

It was a thoughtful thing, and I found myself feeling grateful. I had been raised to thank the moon goddess whenever I was at a table with food and a place to lay my head down for the night. Luckily for me, this was a place like that, so I said a small blessing to the moon goddess, while the men began scarfing down their food. Noticing that I had taken a pause before putting the food into my mouth, Dante turned to me with a bite of bread in his mouth. I waited for him to slowly chew the food and push it down his throat, and then I asked him why he was staring at me.

A thousand dollars was a large sum of money during those days. My boss, Jerry Little, explained, "Business has been going great recently. It's your bonus." I happily accepted the extra cash upon hearing his words. When I finished my shift, I further rewarded myself by purchasing a fried chicken drumstick. Lady Luck must have been smiling down on me that day. However, the thought had barely finished forming in my mind when I realized that the customer who was behind me had only received one drumstick from the owner of the fried chicken

Aurora hugged me from behind, and in that moment, we savored our life together, a precious interlude of peace and love.
