They walked right past Violet as if she wasn't there. Violet stumbled away, struggling to move properly in her heavy pearl-laden gown, and watched Curzon, Dalyla, and Caiphas take hold of the elves. Their fangs sunk into the necks of their victims. An eerie quiet fell on the hall as the entire room drank. Violet looked around, trying not to throw up. "What is this?" she murmured.

Zombies are not real. He is patient. His heart is killing him but he is patient. He will see it through. He will see the figure. Slowly, it is becoming clearer. He can see the shape out of the dark. It looks like a human. It is human. But zombies are humans that ended up as lab rats and return to revenge so it is too early to judge. If it is human, why are they out at night, walking slowly from the dark? The house. Towards the house.

Disgusting as rotten meat.” “I think so too,” I whispered. “The Eldareths are th-their leaders. I swear the de-devil himself learns from them.” He groaned in a low voice. “I ha-hate them all.”

Another yelled, “FOUND A LIGHTER!” “Birthday candles?” Charlie said dryly. “Really? So the ghosts can blow them out?” Sky shrugged. “Might still work.” Before he could argue more, Elisa popped up with her arms full of candles of every shape and size. Vanilla, pumpkin spice, a skull-shaped Halloween leftover, and one that said ‘Live Laugh Love’. “Let’s take them to the guest room,” she said breathlessly. Sky skipped ahead with her guided tour of stupidity. Charlie followed, not like he had any other choice.

Three wolves in the corner choked at the same time. Marek stepped closer. “Aveline. Listen. Please. This is a mortal holiday craft. Not a High Realm frost ritual. Do not enchant anything else.” I blinked at him slowly. “Define enchant.” “No magic.” “Define no.” Lucian groaned. “We are doomed.” The giant Christmas tree stood in a corner, still wrapped in twine. It reached almost to the ceiling. A towering dark green mountain of pine needles and potential. Wolves gathered around it, eager to decorate.

There were real elves in one of the kingdoms, but the elves they dressed up as over the Winter Holiday were short, childlike creatures with pointy ears and red noses. They looked nothing like the pale skinned regal creatures that inhabited one of the other kingdoms. The tradition had been passed down for centuries, adding a touch of magic to the holiday for kids in all of the kingdoms. Izzy snorted, "You were one too, Suse. And, if I remember correctly, which I do, you fell off the wagon, taking half the elves with you."

The elder refused to even make a drum-like motion with his head to emphasize his point. Bella was well aware that they would not easily tell her. Elves are creatures who are devoted to one another. But demons are the same way. She'd be the first to betray her family. She gave a friendly smile. Her smile, on the other hand, appeared to them to be malicious. Their eyes were filled with fear. They stumbled back and bolted for safety.
