Elias nodded and sprinted off.
I stayed beside Selene, brushing a strand of hair from her face. “You’re stronger than this,” I muttered. “Come on, fight it.”
Elias returned a moment later with the thick, ancient spellbook. Its leather cover was worn and pulsing faintly as if the spell was still active within it.
He opened the book carefully and flipped through the pages until he found the right one.
“There,” he said, pointing at the incantation written in crimson ink. “It’s a disappearance spell. Meant to send the victim to a limbo or a location chosen by the caster.”
