Sebastien’s mouth curled into a cold smile.
“You’re welcome,” he muttered.
Aldrich’s eyes snapped toward him.
Ivana, still shaking, found her voice again through panic and disbelief.
“I, I thought,” she stammered, looking at Aldrich as if her mind was cracking, “I thought the evidence pointed at Lord Montclaire as the usurper.”
Aldrich laughed so hard it almost sounded like he choked on it.
“Of course you did,” he said, voice dripping with contempt. “Your need for power made you blind and foolish.”
