I place my hand on her back, trying to soothe her. "It hurts." She mumbles in between sobs. I move some of the hair from her face and can feel that she's running warmer than usual. She looks up at me, and her eyes are glowing purple. I take in a sharp breath, not expecting her to be showing any signs of her powers developing, but I give her a small, reassuring smile.

Hearing your thoughts and seeing what you can see… What's the difference? I did not reply. I merely showed her what the difference was. In front of Snowie's stunned gaze, I thrust my finger into my right eye and forcibly plucked my eyeball out. Of course, there would not be blood or gore. After all, my right eye was a prosthetic.

Lunar ink runs down my sleeves in the shapes of moons and constellations that no longer exist. I wear no crown, yet I have outlived kings. It waved in a wind that didn't exist in the room. But it was her eyes that stopped my breath in my throat. I had seen Feral eyes—the mindless red of the beast. I had seen Highblood eyes—the arrogant gold of the elite. I had seen the silver of the Moon Well.

Soon I saw them approaching, thousands of creatures all of them looking feral, without fear or soul in their eyes. Ogres, Giants, Goblins, and Demons, among others. Coral´s eyes were pitch black, while my mother´s were completely white. Long gone were her green eyes or her loving gaze. Not that she did show love often, but well, long gone was any expression of humanity in them. My heart shattered at the sight. After all, she was my mother, and her soul was so corrupted by vengeance and hate that darkness had possessed her completely.

The last thing I saw was Xavier's Translucent blue eyes as I became a wolf and lunged at him with all the built-up fury and rage. Then I blacked out as I let the wolf take full control.
