After all, a half-naked man, with hickeys and red marks littered all over his body, had just come out of their eldest son's room and greeted them like that. They were shocked beyond words. Still, Callie managed to snap out of it. Her head was still in a whirl, but at least she responded to Leo's greeting with a hum. I tossed and turned in my bed. The soft mattress felt like gravel underneath my body. At some point, I rolled to the edge of my bed and I fell out of it before I could stop myself. The fall was loud and painful. It was also a wake up call for me to stop trying so hard. I grabbed the closest thing to fun that Lillian had left in my room for a very long time now. It was the same plain book that I had scribbled something on. There was a lot more gibberish written in the book but this time, I was trying something else out.
