He crossed the room to a bookshelf where he placed the book at the highest point, where Elsie was too short to reach. Elsie watched his actions with great suspicion. When he returned, she hooked her arm into his, swinging her legs. "How does it feel to have a complete family?" Elsie might have grown up in the Dale household, but she never felt like she belonged. Although Grant and Everest Dale were nice to her and treated her well, she always knew they weren't blood and could never be family. Whereas Aiden grew up in a family with a mother, father, three brothers, and a grandmother.
