"In your next life, you would never try to use me as an experiment". "Dex!" Armani yelled at his friend. He rushed towards him and pushed him off Zaylee's half-dead body. Dex fell to the floor but rose immediately, his eyes as red as blood and his fist ready to tear anyone next to him in pieces. "What's wrong with you?" "She tried to use me for her dumb experiment!" he groaned "What do you mean?!" Dex glared at his wife and walked closer to where she laid and began to hit her harder. Armani managed to push Dex towards the wall and grabbed Zaylee's body.

She nestled her head into his neck. “Thank you. I was freezing,” she stuttered. “I could tell. You were cold to the touch.” She shook violently as she fought to raise her core temperature. He wrapped his arms around her and pulled her close to share his warmth. “I don’t know why but I have a new power and it makes me cold when I use it.” “What do you mean? What new power,” he asked even though he believed he already knew the answer. “I can freeze things. James was here. I froze him and then I killed him. A ghost helped me do it.”

Something felt wrong. I turned toward the drink table then the scent hit me. It was sweet and addictive. My wolf growled “Mate.” Realizing it, my entire body froze. The glass slipped slightly in my hand as my wolf slammed against my ribs. No way. I slowly turned and saw Serena standing only a few feet away, laughing with her friends. The mate bond burned through me so hard my knees almost weakened. My mate! Aiden Cross’s girlfriend was my fucking mate! My breathing became uneven then Serena noticed my staring and her smile faded instantly.

He asked me, "Daddy, why is Mommy doing this to us? I'm so cold, Daddy." I didn't know how to answer him. Once upon a time, Sienna did adore Noah and me. She'd been very devoted to our family. I only found out about her cheating after she'd tricked me into entering the cryogenic pod. In my despair, I'd desperately begged her to let Noah and me out. But she didn't hear me. She simply said to Edwin, "Release the cryogenic gas." In an instant, the freezing air swallowed Noah and me. It was so unbearably cold. We could only hold each other tightly.

"That's impossible!" However, Michelle was already panicking in the corner. Noticing her distress, Melvin stepped forward with faux concern. "Honey, you look pale. Is something wrong?" Michelle scrambled to close her banking app. "Darling, the finance department missed a payment to a client. They need it urgently, so I was going to cover it myself, but my account seems to be frozen. Could you transfer me 150 thousand—" Before she could finish, Melvin interrupted coldly. "I'm the one who froze it."

"A shed. A lean-to. Anything. I don't care if there's no heat or running water. I just want a place to stay on this perimeter where I can be completely away from her." For two full seconds, there was absolute silence. Then, Julia exploded. "Excuse me?!" she shrieked, her voice shattering the quiet of the woods. She lunged forward, her hands curling into fists. "You are asking the Alpha of the Frost Pack for a divorce cabin?! You pathetic, cowardly—" Zyan didn't raise his voice. He didn't even move. He simply shifted his gaze from Stephen to Julia, unleashing a fraction of his terrifying, icy dominance.

The marsh beyond the hollow walls stirred as if holding its breath. She felt everything. Rowan’s fury. Lucien’s hunger. Her own rising storm. She lifted her hands—fire and frost blazing in perfect symmetry. The marsh answered. Roots erupted through the floor in long, twisting spears. Fire burst from her palms in a column of gold, but frost intertwined with it—blue-white veins snapping through the flames like ice lightning. Wolves howled as frost sealed their paws to the stone, while the fire seared the air around them.

Chapter Four: Home Ice The drive back to his apartment passed in a blur of red lights and clenched teeth. Jax kept the windows cracked, hoping the cold night air would cut through the fever haze.
