I have a recommendation for you, based on what we talked about. I really think you are going to like this one. It was pretty eye opening for me. Mild really, but a good place for beginners. I blush fiercely but I still click on the link. It leads to a website of fanfiction. I don’t recognize the series it is linked too, so none of the characters are familiar to me.

At our class reunion, my so-called best friend, Shannon Drew, pulled out a box stuffed with folded notes. A line was taped across the top— [Draw one of Mia Martinez's hopeless-romantic quotes.] The room burst out laughing. Someone pulled a love letter I'd written to Damien Byford senior year. Damien had never replied to a single letter. I'd always figured he'd tossed them years ago. Then Shannon drew letter No. 99. Leaning against Damien, she laughed as she read, "If you ever decide you don't want m

"Don't lie. You wanted to see me again. Wanted to know if that little spark between us was real or just your imagination." Mara's back hit the bookshelf behind her. She hadn't even realized she'd been retreating. "You're pretty sure of yourself." "Am I wrong?" She should leave. Walk away. Go back to her textbook and forget this ever happened. Instead, she lifted her chin, finding a thread of courage buried beneath her shyness. "No. You're not wrong." The air between them seemed to crackle. Adrian took another step closer, close enough that she could smell his cologne, cedar and something darker, more dangerous.

I felt stupid enough to apologize to him tomorrow and bring him a cookie. A flood of nonsense hit first: roleplay forums; romance book rec lists that looked suspiciously like my browsing history from lonely winters; wikis that read like teenagers high on Mountain Dew had built them at three in the morning. I dug harder, forcing my way past fanfic to the kind of folklore sites with ugly fonts and long paragraphs.
