Eventually, with my arms full, I found Nicholas still in the fantasy section. He was engrossed in a thick hardcover, his brow furrowed in concentration. “Find something good?” I asked, approaching him. “Possibly. But I think you might like this one.” He handed me a paperback with an image of a woman wielding a sword on the front. I read the title aloud. “‘The Lycan Chronicles.’ Hmm, never heard of it.” “It’s a fantasy series,” he explained, still flipping through his own book. “Great world-building, complex characters...” He glanced up and smirked. “Plus, it has some... steamy scenes.”

Although he was quiet at first,he opened up a little later on. Devan is the wild child. He is the one that smokes and is covered in tattoos. He jumps from girl to girl every week or so. He never liked obeying the rules but he has no choice but to do so. He calls it the disadvantage of being bestfriends with the future Alpha. Kendrick is the joker. He likes pulling pranks and causing chaos everywhere he goes. He is funny as hell and he does not give a damn about what people think.

Was it me, or did his wolfy lips lift in a slight grin? Yeah, it was me. I was losing it, hard-core. My attention flicked to a large bookshelf, and the nerd in me forced me to walk closer. I hadn’t had much time to read fiction since I started the fast-track nursing program I was attending, but I read a lot up until I started college. Like the rest of Ford’s furniture, the shelf was modern and looked expensive, but gave away absolutely nothing about who he was as a person. I recognized a few of the books on the bottom; all high-fantasy, and mostly ones I’d consider classics, like Eragon. But my eyes trailed up the shelves, and my lips turned downward.

Books are oxygen for the literate. For me, there's no other way to breathe. Breathing comes naturally to living organisms. For a nerd with a perfect attendance record and zero friends, air fills my lungs, and words fill my head. I like filling my head with facts, opinions, and fanfiction. There's nothing better than reading Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings fanfics on a Friday night.

I’ve been trained since I was a child in the arts, and I’ve always loved it. No matter what disaster it could get me involved in, in the end, I still found magic pretty awesome. But then again, I’m a massive nerd. Magic is just my outlet. Some get into Star Wars, or Anime, or D&D, but I can summon actual demons. So take that common nerds. I don’t just geek out on fantasy, I live it. Now, today, my nerdiness made me a little uncomfortable, because it got me involved in some shit again. I was sure of it.

Anyway, while this book becomes the first book for dragon genre, it certainly wasn't my first book in the fantasy genre. The Dance of Fates: Bellatrix was my first fantasy book and I had finished it last year, 2020 so if you can go over my profile, you will find its completed version. While you are an oddity in the Land Under being the only human chosen by the Guardian, I am positive the Lore Master would have made the journey himself to fill the Books of Lore.:

Rolling her eyes from his sight, she continued to browse through a book in her hands. "It said that someone told them a story about NERIDA, somehow the two are mentally disturbed as of now."
