Novel & Cerita Fantasy Shopkeeper

Obviously they think lowly of me, but they must think Onyx incapable of having a normal friendship. "That's a shame dear. Mistresses get many benefits,” the shopkeeper says, slowly folding the tissue paper. I clear my throat. I’ve never even considered being Onyx’s mistress. I doubt he will ever have one. He’s far too romantic and committed to his loved ones for that. "Oh yes they do." The creepy guy winks and I grimace. "Please take my money,” I insist, pushing it closer to her. She sighs wistfully, placing the money in the register before continuing with her painfully slow wrap of the tissue paper.

So before Xavier had left, he had asked me to find the only Enchanted he knew of who could help. Raindrops pummeled my body as I walked briskly through the street, people running in all directions to get out of the sudden downpour. I spotted my destination on the other side of the street and dashed across as lightning flashed overhead. I pushed the door of the shop open and stepped inside, water dripping off my body and onto the wooden floor. The shop was dark, lit by only a few candles, and the air was thick with the smell of incense. I looked around at the shelves that lined the walls, all stacked with books, jars of liquids and powders, and other mysterious objects.

turning his head towards me, Edward gave me the sword. « I guess that it’s a fairy who did this sword, right ? » I said. « You are pretty knowledgeable young Lady, » stated the shopkeeper. « May I see her ? » I asked. « It’s just… Fine, I’ll call her. » He disappeared for a awhile and returned with a small green fairy. We discussed a lot of things, runes, most importantly. It’s a fairy that has an affinity with fire, that’s why she works here. « You can come back here anytime, ya know, I feel bored hereby myself, » said the little fairy.

For an instant it illuminated the warehouse walls. The photographs. The memories. The obsession. The revenge. For twenty years he had waited. Watched. Planned. Prepared. And now, at long last, an opportunity had appeared. Not through business. Not through money. Not through Fantasy itself. Through the one thing William Steele had never protected properly. His heart. The forgotten fifth Leather Brother rose slowly from his chair and walked toward the rain-streaked window. Far across the city, hidden among thousands of lights, Fantasy glowed in the darkness.

"Take this. Keep your guard up." Olivia kissed her on the cheek and took the weapon. "Be back soon." Violet tried the bakery door. It was jammed. She heaved her weight against it and the door broke free. Inside broken glass, bowls, and pans littered the floor. Scorched patches where the fire had been hottest dotted every surface. Some bread remained but it was harder than stones. Violet picked one up and turned to Hestia. "Welcome to Basharr." "Still better than Ipsit," she answered, looking around. "Sometimes traders would come to the palace with goods from Toreva. They described a beautiful town full of all the best things elves had to offer."

"Who are you?" The figure's gaze bore into hers. "I am a Keeper of Secrets, a guardian of the enigma that has shrouded the Enchanted Realm for eons. The path you tread is but a fragment of a greater tapestry, and your choices have set in motion a sequence of events that will shape the very fabric of reality." Soraya's brows furrowed. "What do you want from us?"

Star gave me a bear hug despite her small frame. My arms remained at my side, looking around the apothecary store she held just outside our pack. There was everything from sage sticks to ward off ghost, which didn't exist, to actual toad eyes lined across her shelves. Large tapestry of the constellation hung on some walls while others were lined ceiling to floor with books. Star had everything a human mind conjured as magic, to everything that was actually magical in her shop. "Not so little anymore. I need your help." I grunted, trying to pry her arms off me. She huffed strands of black hair from her lightly wrinkled face giving me her very disapproving grey eyes.

“Yeah, it’s easier for me to afford the rent if it’s for my shop and my home. Not all of us are Guardians with lots of money or slated to become CEOs of what I’m assuming is a big conglomerate.” “It’s not that big, it’s family owned.” I snort. His idea of big and mine are very different. My little shop is 'family-owned' too. He pulls his phone out of his pocket and dials a number. While he’s busy, I go back into the spell room and look over what didn’t break. Thankfully, they were in a hurry, so they didn’t get everything. I have some of the things that I need for the Alpha’s spell. The important things I made and put into a safe when I created the original spell.

The interior hosted no furniture and almost appeared abandoned if not for the glowing blue ball floating in the room. "Welcome to Chasing Clouds Mech Shop. How may I assist you, customers?" The default robotic shopkeeper asked the pair. "Wow Mel, are you sure you want to buy something from this shifty store? I don't think the owner even bothered investing a single penny in this store." Melinda just bumped Janet onto the head. "This store's owned by my cousin, dweeb. He's a little short on cash so he can't waste it on a frivolous expenditure like a virtual shop."

Across her is Master Xaulfur, who is reclined against a chair, his right hand holding his chin and the other placed on the table creating the division between him and the witch. The latter looks away from me, her obsidian gaze descending on a large spread of thick paper on the table. “When Jimme returns with the Tantic girl, we would be one step away from the ritual,” she says before she slams her palms on the table, tilting forward on her hands. “However, the question still is ‘where lies the forbidden castle?’” Her eyes slowly come toward my direction, and mine to hers. She makes it look like she points the question to me, or she could find the answer on my face. Either way, I am not going
