Spiro glanced at him. “We will pass through parts that do not fully answer to any of the three crowns. Some have names. Some change names depending on who controls them for a season. Soothpyre. I didn’t trust him, but part of me wanted to understand him. A part of me pitied him, thinking he had created this fantasy out of desperation. ‘A name change.’ “Look!” he exclaimed, his voice full of excitement. “We’re here!” I followed Kayden’s fingers with my eyes. Up ahead was a little village, tucked between the trees. The houses looked warm and wooden, resting on bright green fields. And behind them were even more mountains. Whatever we were looking at completely took my breath away. It looked beautiful, peaceful… but hidden in the middle of nowhere.

“That reminds me… we need a name. We’re building more than a pack, we’re building a kingdom. Should we call it Seralyn? Or something else?” Suggestions came flying from every direction. “Moonvale!” someone shouted. “Whitefang Keep!” yelled another. “Daeira’s Den!” Tarin heckled, earning a round of laughter and my tomato-red blush. I rolled my eyes but grinned. “Real funny, Tarin.” Riven leaned close, smirking. “I like Daeira’s Den. Sounds sexy.” Kael snorted, deadpan as always. “Sounds like a bar.” Auren, wide eyed, chimed in. “What about Seralyn though? It feels… right. Like it belongs to all of us, not just one person.”

The entrance is too chilly.” Charmine tossed him his suit and asked impatiently, “What is it?” She did not want to spend any more time with him in the cave. Julian did not expect her to be so rude even after being drenched, but he eventually relented as he explained, “When I came out to chase after you, Rex told me that there’s a nickname for this village, and they call it the Ghost Village. No one can get out of here when night falls, and that even goes for the villagers who live here.”

Lilieth The path to the academy was crowded with uniformed Gammas, so we all had to head to the village instead, and from there, we'll find a different, emptier road that will lead us to Noctem Lunae. The sight of the village does strange things to me. The place looks so different compared to both the academy and Draven's pack, and I realize right away that we truly lived in a dump.
