This time tomorrow I will be getting ready for the biggest night of my life. “On this hunter’s moon, all threads converge into one.” The song of the Ancient Sisters haunts my thoughts. Everything seems to be changing so rapidly. I find myself humming the melody of their song as I contemplate its meaning. The path finally emerges from the shaded canopy and spills into the soft rolling hills of the Kingdom of the Moon. These foothills continue northward to the Crescent Moon pack and the mountains. I can see the faint outline of the great mountain in the distance. Its peak so high, only the Gods can summit it.

Their quaint facades, adorned with vibrant flower boxes and picket fences, seem to take on a new life as the sunlight caresses them. The distant hills where the handsome Klaus brothers lived, once shapeless in the night, now reveal their undulating contours. They create a comforting embrace around Hollow Grove, acting as guardians of the town's cherished secrets. As the horizon transforms into a radiant canvas, the colors deepen and intensify. Touches of fiery oranges, fiery reds, and warm yellows begin to paint the heavens, melting across the sky like a heavenly artist's brushstroke. The spectacle creates an ethereal glow, suffusing the town with a sense of wonder.

Four years ago Noah Heidi and I used to run every morning before I left for college but now, she’s in bad shape. The bucket fell into the water, Vic quickly pulled it back, put it on the edge of the log house and looked around again. The road ran along the edge of the village, on the other side there were fields sown with wheat, but behind two rows of houses there was a hill. It was not high, elongated in the same direction as the road, but it still blocked the view, not allowing you to see what's next - beyond the outskirts. It turned out that the village is located at the foot of the hill. For some reason, this evoked bad associations, Vic immediately tried to remember if he had looked over the hill when he made his journey through space. I visualize the Lycan castle looming ahead, its stone walls a fortress of hope, and I quicken my pace. We all got ready and started our journey on foot. We passed through deserted roads, thick forests and crossed a number of shallow waters and lochs. We were lucky to find an earthy path on the snow land. We walked across it and made our way to the hills. "That should be the place." Darson pointed to a hill in the far distance. I could barely make out houses from where I was standing. There was no road, which meant we were supposed to create a path for ourselves. We descended and crossed every river we saw on the map.

There wasn’t one part of me that didn’t want to be close to him right then, to feel him against me. I felt his hand lace with mine as he hobbled the distance to the edge of the road. It overlooked the Andorran mountains, covered in viridescent hills and stoney faces. It was beautiful and exhumed a calm freshness. I felt like I could stay there forever, looking out at the view and never miss home.

I hadn't a clue where we were. A frozen lake sat off in the distance, the bright sunlight reflecting off its glassy surface. Even further, snowcapped mountains lined the forest. I couldn't appreciate the beauty that surrounded me. I couldn't force my eyes away from my Mom. No mountains or rivers would surpass seeing my Mom again, one last time. We could've been in Colorado, or Canada for all I knew.

I felt a growing sense of dread as the bus's departure time drew closer and closer. As I looked out the window, I noticed the morning fog slowly lifting from the ground, revealing the distant hills that were now visible in the distance. The sight was mesmerizing, and for a moment, I forgot about everything else that was going on around me. The fresh, crisp air filled my lungs, and I closed my eyes, enjoying the moment of calmness.
