Lauren Hastington "I'm done! I'm done!" I begged Anwar and he laughed. He gestured to me to go to the side. I threw myself to the side completely out of breath. I tried to reach my water bottle but fuck! It's too far! I got up slowly and reached for it but suddenly someone helped me. "Well thanks jerk." I said as I opened the bottle and drank as much as water I could. "That's for gaining 3 kgs." Anwar said and I drank all the water. I mean I was the one who told him that I gained 3 kgs and I asked him to help me get it off. We trained boxing for hours until I'm dying right now.

"What? Get rid of him?" She must have realized her voice was too loud, so she glanced around nervously before continuing in a softer tone. I didn’t catch the rest of their conversation, but I sent David a message, warning him to be careful. He didn’t reply. I returned to my hellish regimen, watching my weight drop: 150 pounds, then 120, then 110, 100, and finally down to 95 pounds. The day my training ended was about two weeks before the New Year, and every major company was holding its annual celebration.

He told me. That was something I liked to hear. Everyone knew that nobody that walked into my gym left the same. If you came in overweight, you'll leave real skinny. If you came in too skinny, especially as a guy, we'll buff you up. So I had a lot of people registering on a daily basis. "Cool. And everything is in order with the accounts?" I asked.

It graphically showed the progression of genetic breeding. My duties were routine and hardly exciting, but I made good wages and also had enough free time on my hand. I registered at the gym and attended regularly, I also followed the diet charts I was provided with ar the gym regularly. It was hard at first but I adapted to the pain. 'No pain No Gain' like my gym instructor always said, in this context 'No pain No loss. It wasn't drastic like a fairy tale but I could feel myself changing. I was eager to look at mirror every morning, to watch my growing curves. It prompt to work even harder at the gym and follow my diet more strictly.

Everyone laughed loudly, loud enough for me to hear, including Sandra who narrated the ordeal to her mama, who laughed again. I went for a few more days and it was useless, even the instructor who called me aside didn’t believe that I could lose weight or get fit. But he still said the words anyway, lied straight up on my face that I would notice the changes in three months. He told me he would roll out a special program for me beside everyone else, for me and other two plus sized obsess members. Eventually, I gave up and stopped going to the gym. It seemed Sandra was in a competition with me, because as soon as I stopped going too, she quit. She had everything, why would she want to compete

She was still giggling. My mom rolled her eyes but was smirking. Hector was chucking. “She’s got a point, Bryan.” “Don’t make me regret going along with this plan. It’s been three months!” “What the hell is it?” I broke their banter, nearly growling. Hector smiled. “It’s a weight gain powder. It’s like the ones that the weight lifters use when they need to ‘gain mass’. Except this is a special blend that Auri’s dad gets us.”

Since then, I’ve found myself looking longer at my body in the mirror, smoothing folds, oiling stretch marks from pregnancies that ended abruptly, searching for new flaws to worry about. “No,” Gavin said firmly. “I’m not calling you fat. He seemed like someone who would think of yoga as just that.

Just emptiness. It terrified me more than the rejection itself. “Are you still there?” I whispered into the storm. No answer. My vision blurred again. Maybe she hated me too. Maybe she blamed me for ruining our only chance. A bitter, broken laugh escaped my lips. “My toxic trait is being fat.”
