Their Little White Lie
Mum shouted, calling for Dad with urgency in her voice.
Dad and Caroline appeared from the hallway. Caroline was already rolling her eyes, while Dad, carrying a stack of empty plates, let out a tired sigh.
“I thought you left,” Dad said as he walked past us, barely glancing up.
“I did, but I forgot my coat and came back to grab it. Guess what I walked into?” Mum said to Dad, pausing as if giving him a moment to guess.
The chance to answer was gone before it even started. Mum didn’t wait a second before blurting out, “Sabrina was seducing my son, and I caught them kissing!” She pointed an accusing finger at Sabrina, her voice sharp with triumph.
