I’m damn proud of it, and I’m glad I didn’t give up after the first fail. I’ve discovered that I get into those fantasy stories where one person knows who his or her soul mate is upon meeting them, or even before that, as what happened in the A Court of Thorns and Roses series by Sarah J. Maas, A Kinda Fairy Tale series by Cassandra Gannon, and many of the shifter books by Eve Langlais that I have loved so much. So that’s where I came up with the Love Mark idea.

“Honestly, I never believed that the goddess would play this trick on us.” I see her frown as she says, “Maddie also talked about the Moon Goddess. I wasn’t exactly interested in learning about the pack’s history so soon, especially when I still wasn’t entirely certain about my role as Luna yet. And besides, I needed something to ease off the boredom and torture of sitting around while counting every second. I dropped back onto our bed as I started reading the cover. It was something about a complicated relationship between fated mates. I smiled to myself, just realizing it was the only romance book among the others on the shelf. I soon opened the book and started reading about the two main characters. The female lead was a strong, kickass heroine, while the male lead was a ruthless Alpha King who didn’t believe in the mate bond. But wh

That was not on the list of things I was expecting to hear. “A curse?” She nodded slowly, her gaze fixed on a spot behind me. “It was placed on she-wolves alone. The female wolves in your father's family were bound by this particular curse. It suppressed your power for years, your wolf included, all until the moment of your true claim by a fated alpha.” My ears twitched at the revelation. “So I have a family who's like me? Someone I can talk to?” “None of them survived,” she said and I took a sharp intake of breath. “Before one is born, the other dies. No two fated mates can exist at a time.”

When two mature wolves meet and look into each other's eyes for the first time, their wolves fall in love and create a magical bond. I already know this. My parents are fated mates, my grandparents are fated mates, my Aunt Clara and Uncle Rodrick are fated mates, my Uncle Andy and his husband Alessandro are fated mates too. This is not as weird as they want to make it look in this stupid book, but I still read about how that makes people act: Horribly lame.

The title read 'Tales Of The Mates" and the the book itself contained the real stories of the fated as well as chosen mates of the past Alphas. I had already read more than half of the book and I must admit that it was getting on my nerves now. Out of all the entries I have read so far, most of the happy endings were of the fated mates. Mostly, the male Alphas who had fallen in love with someone who was not their fated mate went ahead to make them their chosen mate with a promise to reject their fated once they found them. Unfortunately, such couples only led a peaceful and happy life until one of them found their fated mates.

Over time, resistance faded. Fear settled deep into the bones of every member, and soon, no one dared question the alpha’s law again. Fated mates became a myth best left unspoken. Any strange bond or magnetic connection was buried, denied, and forgotten. Love became a choice, a calculated, controlled act for the sake of continuity. And David practiced what he preached. When he found his fated mate, the bond struck him like lightning, overwhelming, undeniable. She was radiant, everything he had ever imagined and more. But he didn’t hesitate.

“If Ash will let me I’ll give the others to charity. But I like my bed.” Ann’s face got serious. “Does it mean we don’t get the beds?” Lee laughed, one would think she was stealing the bed from her. “No, you can each have one.” Ann smiled and went back to the catalogue. “I’m soo loving Ash right now!” She squealed in delight and Maria joined in. Then out of nowhere she added, “Ashat Rivers, strange name for a hot guy.” Lee had no idea why but they started laughing. She was glad the beds managed to distract Ann.
