“Guess I’m out of a job.”
Victor didn’t look away from me. “You were never in it,” he said, voice rough with emotion.
Rowan shouldered his duffel, already walking away. “Three nights are up, Alpha. Take care of her.”
He disappeared into the trees without looking back.
Victor pulled me down into the grass, rolled us until I was under him, eyes still glowing.
“Now,” he growled against my lips, “I mark you properly.”
His teeth sank deep into my neck.
