But Nora didn’t want it to be cut and everyone in the house knew that our sanity depended on not upsetting her. Curious, I looked at the tree again, in search of what the frog was trying to get at. At the top of the tree was a visible wing. I’m horrible at description, so I couldn’t even begin to describe it, but it was the prettiest thing I ever saw. It was frail and curved and had so many bright colors that I was instantly enthralled. The frog flicked its tongue out again, reminding me of its presence. I had to save the butterfly.

I repeated, gentle, like I was just keeping up with the story. “Yeah. On the couch. There’s a couch in there.” Lily took an enormous bite of toast and kept going around it. “Did you know there was a frog at school called Gerald? He only has three legs but the teacher said he’s still a good frog and I think Gerald and the blanket would be best friends because they’re both soft, well the blanket’s soft, the frog is kind of bumpy actually.” And she was gone. Three legs and bumpy frogs and the blanket already forgotten, the whole reveal dropped on the table like a coin she didn’t know was gold.

Just as he approached a room’s doorway, he heard Tina and Kara’s conversation drifting from inside the room. “Tonight’s bedtime story is called ‘Tadpoles Searching for Their Mommy.’ The warm spring is here… A bunch of little tadpoles want to look for their mommy… After overcoming all the obstacles, the little tadpoles finally found their froggy mommy. Together, they lived happily ever after…” Tina’s tone was gentle as she read the bedtime story out loud from the storybook to her daughter. Kara lay in her arms, her heavy eyelids already glued together. She struggled to say, “The little tadpoles are very pitiful… I won’t be separated from you, Mommy… Even if we do get separated, I’ll find you

A single additional line that departed from the clinical register entirely. *He was a good frog.* David handed the log to Alex. Alex took it. Looked at the last entry. Then he opened to a new page. Wrote the date. *Gerald the Fourth. Common frog, Rana temporaria. Introduced to the estate garden, rose bed corner. Assessment: healthy, alert, appropriately cautious. Temperament: to be determined.* He capped the pen. Handed the log to Catherine. She looked at it seriously. "What do I do with it?"

She smiled at them and they responded by passing a weird look to her "Froggie?? Froggie who ? " Mera asked . She dusted the bench with her handkerchief and threw the small piece of cotton away after it has turned brown from absorbing too much dust "Oh , I haven't tell you about froggie?? Well froggie is my pet toad or is it toad or frog. Anyways it's my new pet . And I met him here " she finished and sat on the bench where Mera had cleaned "Now , we'll like to hear what happened to you in the morning.! " Emily said enthusiastically.

He wasn’t living that down anytime soon. Ten paper frogs sat on the windowsill next to Gabe’s crib. When Max gave the youngster his first origami frog—the one he’d made at La Coraggio—Gabe handled it with gentle awe. Every morning the tyke insisted on saying hello to the row of frogs, bestowing a kiss on each one of them with a squidgy finger. The gentle ritual got to Max every time, a behavior completely out of character for a rowdy toddler. The kid was still obsessed with amphibians, and a trip to the frog exhibit at the local aquarium seemed imminent. “I have something for you.” Max produced a gift from behind his back, helping Gabe to open it.

"We always play a game at dinner about our days. We should say a Tadpole, something we're hopeful for, a Frog, something good that happened today, and a Mosquito, something bad that happened." "I read about this in one of the parenting books," Ali Ahmed said thoughtfully. "But I thought it was called, Roses, Thorns, and Buds." "Technically, it is," Kyra agreed. "But…" She nodded at her son. "Roses are lame!" Omer finished. "So, we changed it to stuff about frogs. Do you like frogs?" "Um," Ali Ahmed said. "Yes?" He hadn't given much thought to the topic of amphibians. Mostly, he was just impressed at Kyra's parenting. Somehow, the quiet, studious girl he'd known had grown into a confident wom

I smiled and sped up, running into him a little as I skidded to a stop and laughed. “Look, I told you I caught a frog.” He held out his phone and I took it, looking at the screen. A huge dark green toad took up the whole screen. “Oh, dude! That’s a toad, even better. Is it squishy?” Tucker opened his mouth wide, grabbing his head. “Oh, man! You’re right, it is a toad. Yeah, it’s squishy. And it gets all wet when you touch it. It was so gross.”

If Emperor Ao knew that Chu Xun used a move of Eternal Phoenix Scripture to fight flies, how would he react? Chu Xun moved on. He went over 20 meters deeper into the valley. Croak! The awful croaking voices of the frogs caused Chu Xun to be covered with gooseflesh. On a huge green rock lay a red toad about the size of a washbasin, and its back was full of lumps. It stared at Chu Xun with its dark eyes. A bird in bright color flew low across the sky. Swish! A red flash appeared at a lightning speed, which turned out to be the tongue of the toad. It was over ten meters long and stuck to the flying bird and swallowed it.

"That's obvious. We just killed many beasts in this jungle. Among them should be quite a few under its command. The Dracotoad is seeking revenge for its subordinates, so of course, it's coming after us!" Adrian explained. "Croooaaak!" The massive toad leaped once again, pouncing toward Adrian and the others. "Oh no! I forgot that frogs and toads jump! With a leap like that, it covers more ground than we do in ten steps!" Adrian hastily instructed the followers, "Quick, spread out! Don’t run in a straight line!"
