Mom's face went pale. She gripped the mic, her voice shaking. "Wh-What... what is this? Is this donor cadaver really my daughter, Charlotte?" She stared at Elayne, frozen in disbelief. Elayne took a shaky breath. "Yes. The cadaver in front of you... it's Charlotte." The mic slipped from Mom's hand, slamming to the floor with a sharp, earsplitting crack. People in the audience flinched, hands flying to their ears.

" I stood in between them trembling. Don't you ever speak to her like that! He sneered. "You can't stop me." My daughter, I said, turning to her. "Please, go to your room, baby. Everything's okay." Her eyes were open wide with hurt, as she looked at me and her father. "Dad?" "Go!" I pleaded, a little, and had to smile. After a pause of indecision she fled, shutting her door behind her. I swung around to Damien, anger and hurt swirling within me. "She's your daughter!"

His voice sounded annoyed. “Father, it’s me. It’s Nina. Not a scam. Please.” He hissed loud. “I need to change this private number. These pests won’t stop.” In the background, I heard a woman’s voice. Soft and flirty. “Come here, big daddy. Ignore those tyrants who want to see your downfall.” My father chuckled. Then he said, “The person has the nerve to even claim to be my daughter.” The woman’s voice got sharp. “Even if she is, she is bad luck. Killed your wife and made you bankrupt because of all that debt.”

I can't believe I was given scholarship into the most beautiful and wealthy school around here. I got up from bed immediately and brushed my teeth then took my bath. I rushed to my parents and kissed them good morning. "My dear how are you?" Dad asked and I replied with a "fine." He was so happy and proud that his daughter was given scholarship, I mean not everyone gets that opportunity.

I follow my father. I trudge down the stairs and into the living room. They stand together, Alpha and Jeremiah. They are both tall. Muscular. I look at Jeremiah. He is beautiful. He has dark hair cut short and his eyes are green. "Jeremiah," my father says, "This is my daughter, Bria." "Hello," Jeremiah says. His voice is deep. It sends tingles up and down my spine. Ayla was blonde, a blonde so light it looked like silver in the sun. But they talked about a woman as well, but I don’t remember ever meeting Alex and Asher's mother. Standing in front of him with tears dripping down her face, she embraced her father lovingly, weeping in his arms. “ Daddy, how much I’ve missed you? I’ve missed you so much, Daddy!” Her father kept silent without uttering a single word to his daughter and neither did he return her embrace to him. Letting go of her father after some time, she observed both of them very carefully and noticed that they had grown lots of white hair and felt guilty upon seeing them.
