Chapter 4

She's Her Mother's Daughter **Marriage to Sharon**

        Seth's POV

"Seth? Seth?" Rose called repeatedly, bringing me out of my imagination world.

"Um you'll get to know it soon enough," I answered her.

"No tell me now," she pouted but I really can't tell her.

"Hmm let me escort you," I proposed. She agreed and we left.

We came back later and I bid her goodbye at the usual point.

Marcus was waiting for me at the field.

I sat down beside him on a small rock.

"So when are you doing it?" He asked immediately I sat down.

"Probably Saturday," I groaned out in reply.

"Good choice, I hope it works out for you," he encouraged. I held my head with my hands not believing I made that dangerous and stupid decision.

Well it's for the best.

   *Saturday* 

I lounged into a hotel not to far from our area.

I still can't believe this.

I had told Rose to meet me up at the field by 1pm and she agreed. 

I waited quietly for her to arrive and she did.

I told her that I had a surprise for her and that she should follow me. 

She did and we arrived at the hotel.

"What the hell is this place?" She asked staring around the whole building.

"Just come on," I pushed and she followed me.

We soon got to the room which was beautifully decorated and she admired it.

"Wow! You live here or what?" She asked and I could tell she was confused.

I bet she has never being to a hotel before.

She sat down on the bed and opened the tray of food that was already there. Without asking she started eating it while I chuckled.

"Are you that hungry?" I asked.

"Its not that am hungry but I know that this is the supposed surprise so that's why I don't wanna disappoint you," she replied with a mouthful of beef. 

I also sat beside her thinking of the best way to conceive her about it.

"Um Rose," I started.

"Yes," she replied not paying any attention to me.

"Do you remember that I'd told you of a way to get married to you instead?" I asked, she paused and turned to focus her whole attention on me. 

"Yes, what about it?"

"I want to tell you now," I informed.

"OK go on," she urged.

"There's this norm my father holds. It says that whoever I..um..I have my first night with," I said while staring at her to make sure she understood what I meant.

She gave me a go ahead look, I exhaled and continued. 

"Whoever that is will be my future wife," I concluded.

She tried to process what I just said when she kept a puzzled look on.

"So what are you trying to say?" She asked after a while.

"What am trying to say is that if I have sex with another person then I won't have to marry Sharon anymore and seeing that you're the one I want to be with..." I paused and grabbed hold of her hand.

"So...." I was about to continue but she cut me off.

"So you want to take away my virginity?"

At her question, I became really nervous. I was afraid of how she'll behave when she's angry cause I've never seen that side of her.

I stared at her for a long while before replying. 

"If that's what it'll take to be with you. Then yes!" I replied and she withdrew her hand from mine and immediately stood up.

"You must be nuts."

"How do you expect me to give away my virginity at sixteen. Seth sixteen!" She half yelled and walked to the door.

Oh lord! I hate this sh*t.

I also stood up and walked to stop her.

"I swears, Rose if it were left for me I won't ever try it cause I know its not right but because I really really wanna be with you that's why I thought of these. Seriously, Rose. Believe me, I know we're too young to talk about things like this but I love you and that's why am taking this decision."

Tears were already rolling down her cheeks when she turned to face me.

"You're making me the bad guy here. Do you think I don't wanna be with you too? Do you think I don't love you too?" She asked so soberly.

"I know but these is what lovers do to keep there relationship," I replied.

     

   Marcus's P O V

I was the only one at home playing a video game when a knock came at the door.

Who could possibly look for me apart from Seth who I'm sure is busy right now? I wondered.

I dropped the video game and went to open the door to see the biggest shock of my life.

       Seth's P O V

Just let just cut the whole story cut. She disagreed. 

I had to knee down and beg her, it took a whole century before she finally gave in.

I had crossed my heart and sweared with my life not to leave her.

Rose totally believes and trust me and I was somewhat sad I couldn't tell her the real truth.

Weeks later

I asked her about her health occasionally in hope that it happened but no. Nothing!

        *Monday*

I woke up early as usual and prepared for school.

I hung my bag across my shoulder and wanted heading out before my father's voice stopped me.

"Seth, do you care to tell me who the hell was that slut you slept with at a hotel on Saturday?" He asked and my heart gave a mighty leap.

Oh gosh! Please just tell me I heard that wrongly.

I slowly turned to look towards his direction.

Mom was standing a few distance away from him. 

"Sorry?" I simply said hoping he'll repeat himself.

"I'm talking about, Rose," he confirmed and I felt my heart pounding fast.

No! Don't tell me he found out about her.

"I don't understand you dad please I have to go to school now," I replied and made to go out but his foolish guards stopped me and dragged me to his front.

"I know she's waiting for you at my own school and the worst of it all is that I gave her a scholarship."

"Do you still pretend not to know her or should I bring her dead body here?!" He roared like a lion he is.

Fear gripped me instantly.

"You know I can easily tell the securities there to kill her right away," he added.

"No dad, you can't do that to her," I pleaded.

"Well she's a slut so there should be no mercy for her," he grinned as if enjoying it.

"Don't ever call her a slut!" I yelled at him.

Oh fuçk! I've gotten him more angry.

He squatted down to face me properly.

"Seems you like her a lot then."

He grabbed his phone and I knew he was about to do something crazy so I snatched the phone from him immediately.

"What do you want dad?" I asked knowing he wanted something. 

"You're going to get married to Sharon today at the Church. We've prepared everything and I think your bride is happily waiting for you there," he said and I scoffed.

"Dad? Did I hear you correctly?" I scoffed not believing my ears.

"Well you dragged yourself into these. If you had loved Sharon instead this couldn't have happened now at least," he said. 

I stood up on my feet and moved back from him.

"When I die then you can do that with my dead body," I threatened.

"Well your little Rose will get killed immediately and her family will go to jail," he also threatened.

"No you can't do that to Rose," I yelled again to him.

"Watch me!" He replied and took another phone. I had to beg him this time.

I went down on my knees immediately and started begging him. 

"Dad please. Don't do it please." I pleaded and he paused. 

"All you have to do dear son is to agree to the marriage without stress and I'll leave her and her family alone."

I thought for a while about it. I won't ever allow Rose to die when am alive. I'll have to do it for her sake and my mom's too.

"Okay, I'll do it, but promise me you won't go back on your word."

"I promise, I don't go back on my words so don't try to act smart, get into your room you'll see a suit there. I'll be waiting for you down," he said and left.

My mom who has been hiding all this while came out crying, she stared at me in pitifully.

She was also fully dressed.

Why is my life like this?
