"Two dollars per pound for live shrimps. 80 dollars per pound for king crabs." I paused, then looked at him directly. My words were aimed at everyone in the room, not just him. "You're the professional here. I don't need to tell you what this setup usually means, right?" The moment I said that, the livestream comments, which had been shouting just seconds ago, went quiet for a beat. Then, it erupted again. Dominic's expression darkened. He glanced at the live shrimp in the tanks, clearly agitated and behaving abnormally, then at the king crab on the iced display, its color already dull and off.

“Not until she says you can.” Fear rippled through the crowd. Some tried to crawl back. Others cried. A few begged. None of it mattered. Ethan turned away from them and walked back into the mansion. Up on the balcony, Lily stood frozen. Her fingers were wrapped tightly around the iron grill behind her, knuckles pale. The screams below had faded, replaced by a suffocating silence. Despite my amusement, I couldn't help but feel frustrated with my friend's insensitivity. He refused to admit that the horror movie we were about to watch terrified him to the core. He had only watched it once, and since then, he had been plagued by the feeling of ghosts lurking in every corner. Even going near his bed filled him with dread, as he was convinced something was waiting to grab him from underneath. He knew it was irrational, but he couldn't shake off the fear, even after all these years.
