Thorne nodded, a tear slipping from his eye for the first time. “I tracked it for years. Found that the shadow consumes souls and grows patient in silence. It has no heart to feel pain. Only hunger. Souls filled with love and pain feed it best.” Ethan’s quiet rage showed as his fist tightened on the wheel. “We end the hunger. We save the souls.” Sable placed her hand gently on Ethan’s thigh, offering comfort through their new mate bond. “Love is strong. Alliance grief is fuel.” That night, we camped under sharp, icy stars. The fire was small, its warmth faint.

Something intangible, something that existed inside me but wasn’t part of my everyday life. “What do you mean?” I asked, my voice trembling. Hayden sighed, running a hand through his hair. “The furies… they feed on souls. That’s how they gain power. But your soul… it’s different. It’s stronger, somehow. More potent. And they want it.” I felt like I was going to be sick. My soul? How could they want my soul? What did that even mean? “I don’t… I don’t understand,” I whispered, my mind racing. “Why is my soul different?”

“It’s different from the outside world. We had to use blood and flesh to feed our soul back then, but everything we do here, even just surviving, requires soul power!” “So we need some things to replenish our soul powers. All the bone demons outside, and those spiritual herbs with mysterious energy, are the source of that.” Alex nodded. He had used quite some soul power to beat up Pigsy too. He did, in fact, feel kind of hungry. However, it wasn’t his stomach but his soul. Yet he still preferred to stay optimistic. “It’s not a bad thing. It’s like a type of training for our souls; just a little weirder is all. If we manage to get out of here alive, our powers would definitely increase.”

This spiritual energy, which can also be called mind or mental energy, was the first step in interacting with energy. Della had told him that any being with a spirit could enter the path of energy cultivation. Spirit and soul are slightly different in nature. Spirit is like the will, which is easier to control and is one of the aims of the Chasing Energy level. The spirit is connected to the soul and is in charge of almost all the functions of the body. The soul is different. It is proof of the existence of any being. As long as the soul is present, the being will exist.

His face contorted into one of discomfort. "Small world." David murmured. Small world, too small for Asher's liking. He had found the girl he missed for so long, but it seemed like she was still miles away from him and forever out of his reach. At that moment all he could think was, fate was truly a cruel and heartless bitch.

But her emotions bleed thru her voice. “You were going to say, ′YES!′ Weren’t you?" She’s extremely sad. I can feel her emotions through her words like they are my own. It’s so weird. “I honestly don’t know what I was gonna say...” I really didn’t. All I know is that this relationship is moving really fast. “He needs to wait until WE know for sure. Look my Mother the Moon Goddess has given all of her children a life soulmate. She created a perfect individual for each of us. They are called a Soulmate. Because they are the other half of our Soul. We are totally incomplete without them. We belong to them as they belong to us!” She stresses.

"What happened?" The First Soul's expression changed. You created the Hunger. Emily froze. "What?" Kael stared. "We created it?" Yes. Emily shook her head. "That's impossible." The Hunger was not created to destroy the worlds. The First Soul looked at them. It was created to protect them. Kael's face hardened. "From what?" The First Soul answered: From you. Emily couldn't speak. She looked at Kael. He looked just as shocked. The First Soul continued.

This sentence pierced my heart like a knife. In my previous life, I repeatedly forgave his betrayal and harm because of this ridiculous reason. Eventually, he pushed me into the zombie horde. I slowly turned around, my voice terrifyingly calm. "Hans, do you know that I'm already pregnant?" His eyes immediately lit up, as if grasping his last lifeline. "So... " I gently stroked my abdomen, my voice cold as ice. "Do you think I would let a child who had killed their own mother be born into this world?"

But I can't be with such a confused, pathetic liar. Again, my eyes got filled with tears. Is this what heartbreak feels like? It doesn't even look like I'll eventually get over him. With a deep breath, I went to feed my hungry stomach, which has refused to stop rumbling. But even before I got to the kitchen, I got a text from Stefan, it was a plan of his work. “I haven't even given him a response yet. He is so confident”. I let out smiling, scanning every word from the message.
