Jace, Emily, Mark, Alice. As we walked in, all eyes turned towards us. "She's the Alpha." James said as I walked towards him. "Alpha, Katherine the hunter." James said, looking at me. The woman eyed me, from top to bottom, she looked unsatisfied, like she wanted to see someone else. "She's the Alpha?" She questioned James. "Any doubt?" I asked her, my eyes glowing red. "Uh- I was just, it's just from what I have heard Alpha's aren't that young, and specially not female, so-" she started but I cut her off.

I stood slowly. “A female,” she added. Snow-colored fur. Fights like she can see. Took down three of Axel’s men last week. Word is, she’s rogue. From Seattle. And people are starting to wonder who the hell she is.” My jaw tightened. “They’re talking about Kaliah.” Maren gave me a dry look. “No shit.” I did give her a look back, and she winced, but she was more than willing to brush off any fear she had to get to the point. I’d let her get away with it this time, but next time? She wouldn’t be so lucky.

The look on the guard’s face shifted from shock to confusion. Satisfied, I matched to the front door, pulled it open, and walked in. I didn’t see any other guard there. Pablo might have withdrawn most of the guards to accompany him on his mission. I have not been here in a long time and don’t know who was in charge here but I was sure Pablo was too occupied at the moment to be here. “How can I be of help to you madam?” The voice was light and warm. When I turned to look at the source of that beautiful voice, it was a petite woman, well into her fifties who stood in the hallway. She was smiling.
