Blood trickled from my temple and my chin, my vision hazy, but I could clearly see the gleam of his amber eyes. “The crest of Fenrir is forged from the first flame. It can’t be destroyed by ordinary fire, not even a dragon’s breath can dent it.” He continued, raising me high above the ground.

I slammed my forearm into the back of Fenrir’s neck, driving his face hard into the top of the padded boards. The referee's whistle blew fast, calling for a penalty, but the war did not stop. Fenrir laughed as he stumbled back, his nose bleeding from the impact. His dark pine pheromones flared in a thick cloud that tried to choke out my cedar control. "He's hiding something under that armor, Kael!" Fenrir hissed, wiping the blood on his sleeve as the linesmen dragged him away toward the penalty box. "And I am going to rip it out of him before the third period ends!"
