Killian The fever hit at 2:13 a.m. exactly. I know because I was already awake, sitting in the dark, eyes locked on the digital thermometer clipped to Celeste’s finger the way sailors once watched the horizon for storms. The number had been creeping upward for an hour (101.4, 101.9, 102.3), each tenth of a degree a knife twist in my gut. When it flashed 102.8, I hit the call button so hard the plastic cracked.

"Don't you want to feel what a fever of 101 degrees Fahrenheit is like?" Zara tried what it felt like to kick the big boss of Azure Cloud Group. Yosef was still sick with a fever, and when she kicked him in the leg, he did not feel like joking anymore. He just kissed her again for a little while before going back to her bed. He did not want to go to the hospital, so Zara had him take some fever medicine from her first aid kit. Luckily, it worked, and his temperature went down to 99 degrees Fahrenheit.

"This is severe. We’ll need to act quickly to bring it down before complications arise. I’d suggest an injection to stabilize her condition immediately."

The servants hurried away. Grayson kept his hand on Kimmy’s forehead. “Why didn’t you tell me you were sick?” Kimmy slowly opened her eyes, her voice weak. “I’m fine… just a little dizzy.” “Silence.” Grayson’s tone was full of worry. “Don’t talk. You have a high fever. I won’t stand by and watch you like this.”
