The Royal Alphas’ Captive Maid

The Royal Alphas’ Captive Maid

Said quietly and with the particular certainty of someone who had always known it. She sat with that for a moment. Then she shook her head. No. She'd been running a fever. The tea had done something thorough to her ability to process reality and she'd been half-unconscious and what she remembered was the specific convincing wrongness of a very vivid dream, the kind that left marks on your body that took hours to fade. She'd had one of those before....she knew what they felt like. She knew the specific quality of a dream that felt real. This had felt real.

Vampire Dreams

Vampire Dreams

“If I knew, I would fix it. I can’t stop getting enough blood. I feel like a bus ran over me. Literally, I feel like I was hit by a bus. Those dreams were so real, so powerful, and I can’t shake them, Alex. I never, ever, have had anything feel like this before. I woke up a pool of sweat and took a shower once already. I feel like a wreck, and all I can do is think about Amber.” “Wow, Dom, that is crazy. I didn’t realize that. I don’t think I have ever heard you say anything about dreaming before.” “No, I hadn’t. I had this vision, which sucked a lot of energy from me. I then fell asleep, which just became a trap. I was stuck in a wonderfully, erotic, real, intense, and I don’t have the word

A Dream

A Dream

As for my dad, I hoped that the demon inside him came out soon. Sitting on my bed on a Thursday morning, with my book in hand, I drifted off into space. I didn't go to school the last two days. Although Liam and Lily went to school, I didn't feel like it. Kelly had been helping me with her notes and even the details of what happened. She was just the best. Nevertheless, the dream I had about Ben telling me I killed him was still on my mind, not to talk of when he said his death was the beginning of others. It still scared me especially when I had no idea what he meant.

Forbidden dreams : A collection of short steamy stories

Forbidden dreams : A collection of short steamy stories

Damien could read her mind so what if he's aware? She shut her eyes and tried to drift to sleep. Barely thirty minutes into her sleep, she heard loud howls. Like a group of wolves were being attacked or howling out for signal. The noise came out in loud repititions and she shut her ears hard with her palms and shut her eyes tight too. Garwin had ensured he'd give them a brutal death. She refused to think to that direction. “I forgot to tell you that we werewolves can be rebirthed. I'll be back for you fuckmate.” She heard Damien's voice inside her head and screamed loudly.

The Vampire Prince

The Vampire Prince

Theodore nodded his head. "What was it about? Do you remember anything?" Elena asked. Theodore looked at the both of them, he didn't know how to tell them about his dream, what if they thought he was weird. "Come on Theodore, you know you can tell us anything." Fife coaxed him. Theodore took a deep breath before answering them. "I dreamt that I was in a fire burning" "Fire?" "Yes fire. I have always had this kind of dreams ever since I was little, after such dreams. I usually had a fever and fell into a coma"

Chain My Heart Too, Gamma

Chain My Heart Too, Gamma

“I don't want to go through this pain again.” But the fever pulls harder, throwing me deeper into the nightmare. My heart races. My hands shake. I see blood on snow even though I know I’m lying on my bed. I hear the tearing of flesh. The begging. The moon too bright above me. Derek is shouting inside me. “Snap out of it. Kael, open your eyes.” I can’t. Not immediately. It takes everything in me to yank myself out of the nightmare. I force my eyes open, but the room spins and the fever makes everything feel unreal. Sweat covers my forehead. My chest rises and falls too fast, like my lungs forgot how to work.

Whispers Of My Incubus Guardian

Whispers Of My Incubus Guardian

Dust clung to some of the covers, while others looked strangely untouched, almost as if they were waiting for someone like me to pick them up. I needed to move fast before someone noticed I was gone, but I couldn’t shake the feeling that I was on the edge of uncovering something important. The question was—was I ready for it? I shook my head. I should be ready for anything, especially now that the threats of the walkers are slowly affecting me in the dream realm. I at least have to know how to fight them, their weakness, and everything else. My eyes peered at this one book, it was a storybook about the dreamscape, and as I scanned through the introduction…there were walkers on it.

Saving Her Lycan

Saving Her Lycan

When we are so close that we are practically breathing each others air, she adds, "I've been having dreams, dreams that are related to this murder cases. And I need to know why I am having them." "What?" "I have been having dreams Kael. Weird dreams and the book too. It all points to the murders, if I am not meant to be involved in the case then I will not be having them." "What book?" "A book I picked up from the library. It was a kind of letter-ish poem book. It had three entries, and I do not know how to explain it but it seems like whoever wrote that book wants me to find them." Everything Lilac is saying does not even make any sense, she is only human. How the hell did she get warped up

Blinking, I felt a peculiar mixture of antsy and horny, my skin bathed in sweat yet cold to the touch, and fingers trembling while curled in the sheets. It was just a dream. I thought quietly. *** A spicy dream lol. Anyways please leave a review it helps others find the book <3

***caution readers*** When this book does update it only updates once a week AT MOST. I love it so far but the chapters are short and it's only a MIGHT that it updates once a week. It's easy to forget what's going on and questions for earlier chapters go unanswered for long periods of time.
Anna Nikipirowicz
The story is really dragging, Seems like Erin just needs to explain and be done with it. Also, if Erin’s dad is so important to the twins that they pay for his health care, but why the first thing they wanted to do is stop investment in his business

Ravished By The Alphas (Reverse-Harem Paranormal Romance)

I felt her emerge, bright and vivid within me. “I wasn’t expecting my heat to come back so soon. I had…” my cheeks flushed warm. “A very realistic dream. About Lucas and Xavier and Sebastian.” Diya made an inconvenienced sound. I do not understand your obsession with the leech. And now a lizard? She gave a scoff. But I will admit, your fever seemed to cool after that dream. Perhaps there’s a reason for it. I reached for the cool washcloth and rubbed my hot cheeks with it.

Frequently Asked Questions

Samanta Schweblin's 'Fever Dream' is a haunting, surreal experience that lingers like the title suggests—somewhere between a nightmare and reality. The story unfolds through a fragmented conversation between Amanda, a dying woman in a hospital, and David, a mysterious boy who seems to know too much about her past. It’s not a linear plot; instead, it’s a mosaic of dread, touching on maternal fear, environmental horror, and the uncanny.

What struck me most was how Schweblin crafts unease without clear answers. The 'rescue distance' concept—the idea of how far a parent can be from their child before danger strikes—becomes a chilling motif. The rural setting feels poisoned, literally and metaphorically, by something unseen. It’s less about traditional spoilers and more about the visceral unease of wondering whether any of this is real or a feverish hallucination.
