Everyone here believes that I am a cousin of Andre and Ophelia, and that I lost my parents during the plague, which isn’t a complete lie. Sage was one of my first friends here. I was the awkward new girl who moved here during the peak of the plague. I was distraught from losing my mother, being separated from my sisters and father. I didn’t know who to trust. Sage sat next to me my first day of school here and immediately started talking to me about unicorns being real. I didn’t even spare her a glance, but she kept talking for a solid 3 minutes about the possibility of unicorns being real.

I sighed "I have a story to tell you." "You’re always telling me the same story." He whispered a bit audible "Not this time I won’t, it’s very interesting, I’m sure you will love it," I said while grabbing the storybook kept on the table. "This looks interesting." "Okay, I will narrate another story." I grabbed the other storybook and began narrating it

So ever since, she has been living with my family since mom refuses to give her up to the social welfare. Again! You must think that I talk too much but Nah, I just love explaining in detail. It is my job anyway, after all, I am a writer. Not popular yet but come on, Rome is not built in a day. And of course, I have a side hustle which is journalism. I work as a freelance but I don't want to be committed to it since I'm more of a fantasy person than that of reality. And yeah, you must have heard peace and I talking about some guy and his family.

He pointed towards the door. I crossed my arms. What did it matter? This was all a hallucination anyways. I followed the direction of his pointed finger and opened the door. I wasn't expecting to see a forest full of snow. My mind really had gotten creative. How could I have been in the city and now here? This just cemented the fact I was hallucinating. I walked into the cold snow with my socked feet. It was truly cold, but it didn't matter. I walked a ways through the snow-covered yard and to the trees. It was damn cold. My body shivered. My mind was making this so real.

Opening the bedroom door I see my beautiful mate lying on the bed fast asleep so I quietly take my shoes off and climb onto the bed behind her, as I'm about to snuggle into her back and hold her she wakes up and starts to jump away, "Please don't," I say tiredly She turns to look at me and must-see how tired I look, the scowl is quickly replaced with worry "Is everything ok?" "Well no, not really, I can't get hold of the pack and Lanna just had a vision, The wars started and there's nothing I can do and I'm soo tired," I say yawning.

Alice said "So Nikki what's you're hobby"..I asked "Texting"...she replied immediately while we stared at her in amazement "Am kidding"...she said and we laughed "I love dancing".. I just wanted to give them some space since they haven’t had the house to themselves after their wedding. Now with Kayla and I out, and Grace abroad, they were finally all alone. Done with fabric sorting, I was flipping through the papers on my desk when I realised that Nina had dropped my daily delivery of magazines. I started to purchase Youths of Africa Magazines since I got inspiration to design from there sometimes. One of the magazines caught my attention, and I gasped at who I saw. Brian’s image stared back at me, his eyes having this smoldering look in them.

But I didn't really give a damn about business when all I could do was think about the last time I'd been out at night. ​My mind flashes between the present and the past, figures appearing where they weren't, laughter echoing from my memories, bringing the cold touch of terror with it. I back away from the door and go to the back door to make sure it was locked. I was safe in the store; I could sleep here tonight with Sassy. Worst-case scenario.

A series of unrecognizable murmuring sounds disrupted my thoughts. My nose scrunched. What's that noise? Unable to resist, curiosity got the best in me as usual. No wonder I fall into trouble most of the time. I just can't mind my business. I followed the sound. The sound was someone's painful moan. Someone's hurt? Recognition sends my body into fight or flight. The sound led me right in front of a guest room where no other than Kandel and her good-for-nothing fiance had been staying. As much as I like Kandel, I would rather not have her here than to deal with Lucas.
