Tiffany and Hailey eagerly began scanning the shelves, pulling out books and flipping through their pages in search of answers. Hours passed as they delved into the stories and accounts of supernatural beings, searching for any hints or connections to their own experiences. They came across tales of witches, vampires, and shape-shifters, but nothing that seemed directly related to their own situation. The air is filled with the scent of old parchment and dust. I move between the towering shelves. My fingers trail along the spines of books as I pass—histories, war, bestiaries, and ancient cities. None of them feel like they hold the answers I need. But I keep searching. I pull down a heavy tome on supernatural entities and flip through it. Nothing. I grab another book on creatures of the old world. Still nothing. My pulse quickens with every empty page. I can’t stop seeing that creature’s eyes. I can’t stop hearing the demon’s word.

They can’t come out during the day.” “What about if they had a magical amulet or something?” He widened his eyes. “Well. . .sure. And why was she only drawn to open it now, at this time?
