HATING HER KING
"While you remain in your room, adorning yourself with fine clothing and jewellery, doing absolutely nothing, the Fitzgerald lady is doing all she can to get close to the king!"
Jane flinched. "I assure you, My Lord, I am doing all I can." Her eyes darted between the window and her feet. "But the king seemingly wants nothing to do with me. Whenever I approach him, he responds as though he has no other choice but to, and sends me on my way as soon as he can. However, with Lady Fitzgerald, he seeks her out, even if she runs from him."
The fool! All he heard were complaints. "And so, you choose to admit defeat?"
