Finally she drops her gaze, like a meek cat.
“I see.” she replies, her voice a pitch lower than normal.
The wind hits my face, carrying the distant scent of already-blooming jasmine and, underneath it, the faint, lingering trace of Eva’s heat.
Alice glances toward the mansion, then back at me. “So what do we do if we can’t go to Ophelia?”
My wolf settles, decision made.
“Ophelia will obviously have to come to us.” I say, looking at the mansion, towards the East Wing.
