There were no food items except for the wine bottle, so I took a swig from it and suppressed my growling stomach for a little while. I had bought some books before, thanks to which I occupied my mind with the world of humans and spaceships until it was mid-afternoon. I couldn’t hold back my hunger any longer. Since I had no one to come and lend me some food nor any money to buy some, I had to go back to the palace. I let my hair loose on my back, combing through it with my hands. I adjusted the fabric and I looked a little lively. I opened the front door and stepped out. It was a little cold but it was bearable.

Fairy went to her bed and slept off. Zevarion and I remained, our backs leaning against the couch. The air was warm, still holding the scent of tea and honey. I pulled out the living book and let it rest in my lap, its cover glowing faintly under my touch. There were so many questions crowding my mind, each more urgent than the last. I didn’t know where to begin. Finally, I whispered my heart’s question into the air. “How can we stop Xareth?” I wrote it. The book pulsed once. Ink bloomed across the page.

"The Book of the Seven Heavenly Knights, Your Majesty." Hearing Zhou Fu's confession, Mao Mingzao was stunned for a while.
