Grandma replied with a disappointed tone, “Ohh it is alright. I wish u two can stay.” Xander replied immediately, “Grandma, I think Hazel can stay here and accompany you for someday.” Immediately, Grandma’s face lit up. I was sure Xander read Grandma’s mind. So with a slight smile, I replied, “Thank you, Xander.” Xander was preparing to leave and Grandma was talking with him when suddenly a thought appeared in my mind. I was sure that Damien was talking something about castle and territory. So I asked Xander via mind link, “Is everything alright? Has something happened in a castle?”

The map Damien unrolled crackled with age, its edges frayed like something clawed at them long ago. The faded ink revealed a region blanketed in darkness—no names, no landmarks, just a jagged shape surrounded by thorn-like symbols. “The Shattered Lands,” he said grimly, running a gloved hand across the parchment. “No one returns from there untouched.” Selene stared at the mark pulsing on her palm—the bond magic that had begun to shimmer black along its edges. The same darkness she’d seen in her vision… in them.

She couldn't help it, she hated everyone of them that didn't care. Letting out a deep breath she eased a tiny bit of tension, she shot her eyes briefly focusing on the sight of fire as the woods crackled burning from it's flames. Strangely it made her head calm a bit and the voices were gradually dissapearing then she twisted her face for a frown as if realizing something.

In the midst of all the arguing Roman stood quietly, not speaking a word which surprised me. I took off my shoes, placing my feet up on the bed. I grabbed my phone and began to type. ‘Hi Clara, thank you for today it has been amazing. I apologise for running out the way I did, I just didn’t feel too good.’ I didn’t wait long before my phone buzzed ‘Hey Luna, don’t thank me! you were the star of the show. I am so amazed how well it all went. I look forward to California in two weeks’ time.’

The rest of the group follows as we make our way closer to the fire. She reaches for an a piece of ember bark that sits in a bowl near the fire. Lyra takes a deep breath, and throws the ember bark into the fire. "I'm afraid I will never be enough." she says so softly I almost don't hear her. The ember bark burns so brightly I have to look away. My gaze collides with Callan who has a blonde sitting comfortably on his lap. Something ugly burns in my stomach. I force myself to look away, and direct my attention back to the fire. My thoughts begin to spin as I try to settle on what fear I'm going to give up.

The Aokami riders would ride their beasts undetected into an enemy city attack the enemy from above and pave way for further attacks for the remaining Slowlandia forces. "The gods only send the Hanara against you when you've been damned.

They didn’t eat, they didn’t sleep, they didn’t stop. They just kept coming, pushing us back and taking our land, leaving a sea of dead bodies in their wake.

He wimps, a slight chuckle escapes my lips. "Oh, sweetheart if only you knew how stupid you look right now." "Besides, you're useless to me now," I added. I slowly bent down and leaned closer to his ear. "Never underestimate me." "Like they say." Pausing for a second. "The most dangerous animal in the world is a silent smiling woman." I cocked my gun and shot him in the chest. He slowly gasps for air glancing deep into my eyes with fear. One-thousand-two-hundred and six people I've killed in my life. “Alpha.” Alpha Thorne's grin widened, his golden eyes gleaming with feral intent as he straightened up, gesturing toward me with a sweep of his arm. “You arrived just in time, Kai. Come, let's ruin this little omega.” Beta Kai's gaze shifted from the Alpha, dropping to me where I knelt, exposed and glistening with the remnants of Thorne's release on my chin. His blue eyes darkened, pupils dilating like a predator spotting fresh prey, and a low rumble built in his chest.

The silver in Xander’s eyes was like looking into a mirror of a dead world. He was still warm, his skin still carried the faint scent of the forest and the forges, but the man who had promised me a life without ledgers was adrift in the white noise of the Second Growth.
