My head ached from my own raging thoughts. A dark, charming smile spread across his lips, recognition flashing in his dreamy brown eyes. When I looked down at his arms, all I could think about was how they held me like I was the last good thing on earth. I blinked the thoughts away, fighting back the heat that threatened to rise to my cheeks. I took his hand, shaking him firmly. “Hello Mr Montgomery.” I finally said, my heart drumming against my chest. “You must be the representative from RM Conglomerate, Miss Camilla Martin.” He repeated, this time around, his voice was laced with intention.

He was cursed; the rumors were true. “Give me my mate, and I will leave! Camilla is mine no matter how bad she was, and I won’t stand by while you kill her!” I shouted back, fury boiling in my veins. “You want her? Fine, you can see her,” Dane sneered. He turned and led me deeper into the grounds. My heart pounded as we approached. And there she was—Camilla. She was tied to a metal pole, blood dripping from her wounds. Her chest rose and fell weakly as she struggled for breath.

That’s all that mattered right now. But as I got closer to the wing, something felt off. The air was too still, and there was a faint sound like pages rustling. I slowed my steps, my senses sharpening. The healer’s wing was supposed to be quiet, especially at this hour. No one was supposed to be in there except the healers and Zuleika. I crept closer, sticking to the shadows, and that’s when I saw her. Camilla. She was in the small library attached to the healer’s wing, her back to me, frantically flipping through books on the shelf. Her phone was pressed to her ear, and she was muttering something I couldn’t quite catch. My blood boiled. What the hell was she doing here?

From afar, Camilla approached, dressed in her red nightie. She stopped on her track the minute she saw Mario and Evelyn approaching. She quickly hid in a corner and peeped at them. Her eyes rested on their hands together, making her blood boil. Mario opened the door to his room. They both entered the room and Mario closed the door. Camilla clenched her knuckles and walked back angrily. She got to her room, opened the door and entered before closing the door aggressively, making Liliana flinch on the bed.

But she didn’t. Camilla pulled out her phone and stretched it to him. It was her I*******m page. There was a picture of her lounging at the family swimming pool with a thick novel open on her lap. He swiped to see the next picture. It was the first book in the duchess series.

Camila asked in a sleepy voice. "we are going hiking" Roman replied. All the sleep seemed to vanish from the 20 year old eyes becasue soon she was all bubbly and walking around the penthouse like she was not asleep a few minutes ago. Roman let out a loud thraoty laughter as she began to drag him to their bedroom to get ready. Camila was the first to finish getting ready and that was only because Roman decided to dress super slowly in order to annoy the hell out of her. She really knows what she is doing. I get out of bed and look at the goddess sleeping in my bed, delighted with the image and the woman herself. Camilla is not only a beautiful woman on the outside, but she seems to be beautiful at heart as well. I only hope that she doesn't get too attached, that she doesn't forget that everything is just a contract and at the end of this period we will never see each other again.

Camilla locked the door behind her and waited, this was her first time in Emma's room and even though she was invited she did not want to overstep her boundary. "You can sit over there." She looked worried and must have been crying, from how puffy her face was. "Is everything okay, Emma," Camilla asked. Emma shook her in no. "What is the problem?" Camilla asked. She saw as Emma struggled and went to meet her.
