The full moon was quickly approaching, so I set down my belongings and undressed next to a tree. Ana sat on the ground in a clearing, illuminated by the bright lunar light. Golden energy spread across the forest. Clover’s Eclipse Crown appeared. Silver and black energy surrounded her. The chains began breaking. CRACK. The Void stepped backward. “You cannot defeat me.” Clover pulled harder. “Maybe not.” CRACK. “But I can defeat what you made me believe.”

The man who had controlled every piece of this game was finally realizing the board had changed. Outside, gravel crunched under tires. A car door closed. Footsteps approached the front of the house—heavy, purposeful, and familiar. Roric Blackwood had returned. Varek’s eyes flicked toward the sound and then back to me. Something cold and final settled into his expression. “This is not over,” he said quietly. The front door opened downstairs. Roric’s voice called out, clear and carrying. “Varek. Lyra. I told you I would be back. We are going to settle this tonight.”

When nobody made any attempt to speak, Elder Samuel cleared his throat, gaining the attention of the Coven leaders and Elder Kane and he asked, “And what news is that?” Sapphire pulled out a cloth from her dress and she went on her knees before laying it down. The Elders and the Coven leaders present all watched as she unwrapped the cloth, revealing a small dagger covered in black blood. Sapphire raised her head up to look at them and she announced, “Kyra Blackburn of the Blackburn Coven...has passed away.” And she grinned even more wider. *

He drew closer to Akunna, circled him for sometime before rubbing his chest with white chalk. Brief words of grief followed, then he vanished out of sight.

This is the last thing Fala is able to muster before she can't stand any longer, she falls to the ground and passes out. Cloven walks up to her, his breathing becomes heavy as his adrenaline kicks in. He looks over her body with pleasure of his work, but something inside him deeply regrets the actions that he took. 'What do I say when Fenrir finds out about this? Fala is one of his favorite underlings and I went and messed it all up.
