"Fufufu~! Now that the pep talk is finished let's go back to more pressing matters... Your awakening. Sol, give me a summary of what you know about the awakening." Sol slowly stirred his tea with his spoon as he mulled over his thoughts, organizing the information in his head in the most concise way possible, before finally answering. "Humans are the sole race on this world unable to use mana from birth and also the sole race unable to use magic naturally. This situation can only be redeemed once they reach their fifteenth birthday and go through a ritual which is collectively called as the Awakening. From that moment on, they can use mana. But only mana. Not magic."

He lifted a charcoal rod and drew a rune in the air; it glowed with corrosive light. “By Death Incarnate’s decree,” he intoned, voice hollow as ash, “the Emblem of Emberstone shall burn!” Selene lunged, blade flashing. The envoy spun, warding rune deflecting her strike, and unleashed a jet of warped flame. Ryker dove in to intercept, steel sparking against fiery magic. As blades clashed, Selene snatched a bundle of parchments from a crouching cultist. “Look, Ryker... these are dispatches from Kaelia’s lands.”

A chuckle echoed, but I couldn't bring myself to meet the eyes of its source. I was staring like an idiot. "Hello," the cool voice greeted. I raised my head to his direction again, and he was smiling at me. God, he was so handsome. "H-hello," I said back, my voice small. "I'm Alpha Rowan." "Ravenna." "Ravenna," he repeated, the smile still on his face, and I felt my face hot again. "Welcome to Stonehowl pack, Ravenna." "Thank you." Alpha Rowan turned to the trio that was silent, and raised a single perfect eyebrow.

Their teammates' expressions transformed from mourning and despair to pure astonishment and joy as they beheld the miracle unfolding before them. "She's back", Kollie whispered and hugged Alex before she started sobbing. She had been so scared, scared that she'd lose her best friend forever. She probably broke a dam, as seasoned alphas and grown men started crying alongside her, even Hailey wasn't exempted. "Welcome to Lunastra Aetheria", the woman beside the moon goddess smiled, her eyes crinkling at the side.

I asked, my voice trembling. I was scared, but I trusted it. Even though it had lied about being Benjamin, it had never harmed me. In fact, it had saved my life multiple times. "Ordinary?" She wished to shout it out, to rip it from her heart, but the atmosphere was too dense, choking. Lucien’s smirk twisted, his crimson eyes locked on her with sick pride. “Because you were born for this, daughter. You are the only one who can awaken him fully. And whether you want it or not, it’s already begun.” The chasm pulsed, a blast of heat surging upward, and Emily stumbled back into Alexander’s chest. The shadows roared. The awakening was no longer waiting, it was here. --- Marcus finally moved. He was precise and ponderous. His face was all sweaty and his eyes remained steady as he gave a firm gaze. There was a burning regret that pierced the confusion.
