A chill ran through me as I stared at him in disbelief. Seeing the terror in my eyes, Tucker curled his lips into a knowing smile. Panic took over me, every fiber of my being screaming to push him away and run. But my body refused to cooperate. The fire inside me had barely dimmed, leaving my body limp and unresponsive. I grabbed his tie, my attention drawn to the flush creeping over his ears. "Can you take me home?" I asked. Reading my unspoken request, Tucker quietly began to remove my clothes. "Tucker… No…"

I will never let him touch you again. The flames surged high, swallowing the hollow in light, and Carson leapt forward onto the path, his roar clashing with Johan’s laughter. The ground shook, the shadows screamed, and the bond inside me burned so fierce I thought it would tear my chest apart. I closed my eyes against the fire, whispering through the bond, “Do not stop. Whatever happens, do not stop.” The path of fire shook under Carson’s steps, the flames rising high on both sides as if the realm itself wanted to swallow him. His body glowed faintly, the bond burning through him, his claws digging into the ground as he pushed forward.

the guy chuckled then sniffed releasing me from his hold “I’m not on something, I’m mad that you filthy rich piece of shit just bounces in this area to my ex-girlfriend’s home. Stephanie POV When I saw red light bloom across Tyler’s face like a tinged shadow, I thought it was my fire power taking control of me. I feared my eyes had turned red-orange again, but instead of being blind, I saw everything through a film. Fire was still simmering in my veins, even after Tyler coaxed that orgasm out of me, our mate bond officially sealed, and no one could guess what a mate bond mixed with fire powers could bring. Well. Wind hit the house with such force that the windows shook as Zander lifted me and sat me on the table. Before I knew what was happening, he’d ripped my shirt off, his hands hot on my bare skin as my flames began to die. The small amount of fear I’d felt when he’d grabbed me disappeared as a new fire took hold, one of need.

He wasn’t strong enough to move me. The fire inside me swirled like a beast, a power I had barely tapped into, a strength that coursed through my veins like molten lava. I gripped his hands tighter, feeling the burn of it. My sleeves caught fire, the flames dancing up my arms, licking at the edges of my skin, but I didn’t flinch. The electricity that crackled through his fingertips surged toward me, the sharpness of it biting at my skin, but my flames fought back with equal force, each burst of heat pushing against the storm of his power.

***AUTHOR'S POV*** Zina stared at the photos on her table as she tried to make sense of everything. The case had been closed for over eight months but she had the feeling that there was more to it than anyone could phantom. The bite marks, the claws, the crime scenes, she felt it was all related to that fire. She brought out the photos of the two students who were the victims of the tragic accident, Swayer Sapphire and Cruella D'vile. She stared at Cruella's photo again and a frown settled on her face.
