LAYLA SUDDENLY FOUND herself underwater, swimming with the fishes, surrounded by beautiful, colorful corrals, which reminded her of their aquarium when she was still a child. Their aquarium was her favorite thing inside their house when she was still just a child. There were goldfishes around her, angelfishes, bettas, swordtails, which were the fishes that used to fill their aquarium. And looking at and feeding the fishes inside their aquarium had always been one of her fondest childhood memories. It always delighted her, and now, she was feeling that feeling again, something that had always make her feely giddy as she played with the fishes.

Angie says to Mia, that shakes her head, crossing her arms again. “I am not hungry,” she says, and Angie stops smiling. She looks at me with the saddest eyes I have ever seen. Angie has been working for over fifteen years. She changed Mia’s diapers, and she raised her when I couldn’t, and I won’t be taking this kind of behavior towards a woman who loves her as much as she loves her grandchildren.

I commented. I tried to test the water’s coldness with my toes. My body chilled to the freezing sensation it brought but I continued stepping on the water. I pulled up the hemline of my dress and cloak so it won’t get wet. I squinted my eyes as I searched for something creeping in the water. I was surprised to see lake trout and walleyes pushing through the shallows. “Woah..” I gasped. “How is this possible?” The water level hasn't even reached my knees yet so why were there so many fishes here? I heard a loud splash and I saw Namir already had a big trout caught on its sharp teeth. “Perfect!” I commended, delighted by Namir's boundless skills.

Angie squealed at higher pitch. “I am not your prisoner, monster. Let me go.” She banged her chained hand on the head board, trying to break free. Her cries and dripping blood soften his weak heart.
