After Five Years
Aisha's POV
After ensuring my appearance, I grabbed my bag and phone. Stepping out of the apartment, the fresh morning air greeted me. The aroma of coffee from the cafe near the hospital wafted in, boosting my spirits. Every step toward the cafe felt like a step toward freedom—freedom from the pain that had bound me for so long.
Outside, I felt the warm sunlight on my skin. Although anxiety flowed within me, I felt more ready to face whatever awaited. The streets were filled with people passing by, each with their own stories. Some looked happy, while others seemed hurried, as if they were carrying burdens of their own.
