After a moment of awkward silence, I made a move to leave. "I'm looking for a book. Might you help me find it?" she requested. "Of course," I said, smiling. "What type of book are you looking for?" I asked, glancing at a shelf. "A book about flowers," she responded as she turned around, going through some shelves. Trailing after her, I spoke, "You won't find it there." With that, I went around the shelves until I came across a specific one. Picking out a book, I went back and handed it to her. "The first pages says a lot about daffodils," I mentioned.

I've never read any of them. It was only after he spoke that I realize he was behind me. I thought he was still sitting on the bed. I run my hands over the book, my eyes catching the titles, A fresh Start, For Mbatha and Rebecca, Agony in get voice, Felicia, The betrayal, for better for worse, Evbu my love... I pulled Evbu, my love out. It's actually my best pacesetter novel. I flipped through the pages and sniffed it.

Seeing Ryle genuinely curious about the book, I felt a little bad and decided to share information about it. “This is a book about starlight flowers. I’m sure you have never heard about it. It’s a list of flowers that only bloom once a year under a very special condition.” Ryle carefully got closer to me and looked at the pictures. His face looked so serious it took a few seconds of my attention. His long eyelashes and ocean-blue eyes were glancing at each picture. “Hmm, these flowers are stunning. So which one is your favorite? I like this one.” Ryle pointed to the sky-blue starlight flowers.

I grabbed a few and tucked them under my arm, climbing with my free hand. When I reached the highest shelf, I pulled out a thick book with a green cloth cover. The title was embossed in gold: “Medicinal Flora and Fauna of the Northern Territories”. Perfect. “This one looks good,” I called down to Nora. She grinned up at me. “Can you get that blue one too? Next to it?” Nodding, I reached for the blue book she indicated, stretching up on my tiptoes. My fingers brushed the spine but it was a little far. I had to lean to the side to reach it, my tongue poking out in concentration.

"Hey, what book is this?" The man who was focusing with the microscope lens finally lifted his face, "Isn't there a title there?" "Yeah I know, but about what? I've never heard of Aima before. Is this a book about sexuality? A porn book?" asked Gail happily. This man rolled his eyes, "Seriously, if you are looking for a book like that you can find it at Night Flowers," he said. "Then?" The old man straightened his stiff body then pushed his wheelchair and turned to face Gail. "This is a book about a lost history," he said.

I didn’t know what magic smelled like, but this room felt like it had some. I stepped inside slowly, looking around like the brave warrior princess I pretended to be when I played with my dolls. So many books. Stacks and stacks of them, tall and wide and thick and dusty. I touched one of the shelves, my fingers dragging over the wooden surface until I stopped in front of one really old-looking book with gold edges. The title was shiny. “The Flare Witches.” Oooooh. That sounded cool.

I approach cautiously, trying not to disturb her slumber. Curiosity gets the better of me, and I glance at the computer screen in front of her. The document displayed on the screen is titled "Fragrance of Love." My heart skips a beat as I realize that this must be the copy of the book she was working on, the one named after the scent of Tuberose. Could it be that Ema is Tuberose?

"Yea? It's a lily? What about it?" My answer made him snicker as he turned his head in my direction. "It's not a lily. It's called Elnea. It's a flower tended to by the flora fairies that used to follow Eleanor's orders. The sword was what Eleanor knew how to use the best. Eleanor smells like Elnea." So, the flowery scent I smell on Eleanor is Elnea? "So, it has nothing to do with your glory?"
