River – POV The library was massive. Not just big—massive. Bigger than the one at Crescent Moon, and that one had been the largest I’d ever seen until now. But this… this was something else entirely. The scent of old paper, wood polish, and something earthy—maybe the aged floors—wrapped around me the moment I stepped in. It was quiet, peaceful… like stepping into another world where time slowed down and all that mattered were the stories, the knowledge, the whispers tucked between pages.

They blinked at her, taken aback for a second, but then Courtney stepped forward. "There's a gym in the basement, a mini movie theater, a pool in the backyard, a pond in the garden, and a library in the west wing-" "There's a library here?" Serena asked, shocked. Courtney nodded and escorted her to the library. Serena was ecstatic as Courtney left to bring her some snacks. Victor and Alexie were nowhere in sight, probably at work. And thankfully, in their absence, the mansion felt a lot more peaceful. The whole library was mostly filled with business books and history, but she was able to find a couple of romance novels, which was a win.

There are at least five of them camped out front at all times, like rats with lenses. So I throw on a black hoodie and a cap, keep my head low, and drive out. There’s a 24-hour flower shop near Coral Way, just west of Miracle Mile. Quiet and hidden. I go there. Pick the biggest bouquet I can find. Fiona used to love it anytime I would buy her fresh flowers. She would always get excited like I had bought her the entire world… I really screwed things up. I had the sweetest girl in my life.

She opened the door and walked inside. “Didn't you read what's on the signboard?” A man demanded exasperatingly. “Diego, I brought friends.” Fiona shouted. A man in his late fifties stepped out of a room. He stood in front of them and folded his hands over his chest. “This is an old library. Why did you bring them?” Fiona removed her jacket and smiled brightly at him. “Something happened, we don't have another place to go.” “Whatever. I don't have new books, they're out of date.”

Mama said, tugging me toward the door as Evelyn nodded, replying with a ‘yes ma’am. When we reached a big white door, she pushed it open, and I let out a gasp. The library was like a huge glass room filled with books, flowers of different sizes and colors covering the earth outside. It made the library look like something out of a fairy tale, with a feather-like couch by the side of a shelf, perfectly facing the garden. I loved reading books; it had been my only way to pass time before truly falling in love with it. But seeing this garden, it felt like I had found another thing I love.

I can’t feel him here, though, he’s probably at the University already. We also get to see Sandy Hills College, where we will be taking classes. We tour the College Library and some lecture halls. We visit other important places, such as the training grounds, the schools, the pool, the pack hospital, the Shell – where religious services are held – and the pack library. Goddess! They have two libraries! I’m going to explode with happiness. “You’re not gonna have any time to read, Willow, at least not for the next three months,” Jamie says. I feel sad, but I’m comforted by the thought that at least I get to read some GoodWolf novels on my phone.

Some were covered in ivy and flowers that seemed to bloom even in the rain. “It’s beautiful,” I whispered again. Ivy gave a small smile. “It always feels like magic here. Soon, the car reached a round stone archway. It was covered in vines, with glowing runes carved deep into the stone.

“Don’t be like that sweetie. He’s finishing up practice with Liam and Denver. They’ll be here soon. Let’s go and chill in another room.” We manage to make our way through the kitchen back into the entrance area and across through another set of double doors. This leads us into a library. It’s stacked with shelves upon shelves of books, there are two red sofas in the room forming an L-shape. Tall vases stand in two corners filled with beautiful flowers. I bet my mother would know what they are, I haven’t got a clue unless it’s roses, carnations or tulips. Which are my favorite.
