Did you take too many punches to the face in training?” Jade laughs and shakes her head. “Not the shape of the rock, the discoloration on it Wren.” her tone is clipped but her eyes glitter with mirth. I strain my eyes looking closer and sure enough, the square rock has what looks like a white curved stripe in the shape of a half-moon.

I met him at James’ Heir Ceremony. I reach out to shake their hands as well. “It is good to see you again, Gamma Marcus. Thank you for the warm welcome.” It looks like little Ryan also has something behind his back for me. He opens his hands and gives me two rocks. “Rose said you like pretty rocks. I found these for you.” I rub the rocks with my thumb, and I can see they are very pretty, “Thank you, Ryan. This one here is rose quartz, and the other is Fairburn Agate. I’ll clean them up, and you won’t believe how pretty they will be.”

She placed it carefully into my palm. A crystal no bigger than a fingernail, glowing softly pink. I stared at it. “For me?” She nodded proudly. Then, with one last chiming laugh, she launched herself back into the air and disappeared into the stream of lights dancing above the camp. Another pixie drifted down from the night sky a moment later, this one glowing a bright shade of blue as it fluttered in a lazy circle above us before making a direct path for Rhys. It hovered in front of his face first, studying him boldly, then landed right on his shoulder as if it had every right to be there.

I shifted back into my human form, my breathing ragged as I stood at the water’s edge. The lake shimmered under the moonlight, its surface so clear I could see the stones beneath it. One, in particular, caught my attention—a crimson stone, its deep hue almost maroon under the moon’s glow. A strange silver aura surrounded it, and without hesitation, I waded into the icy water to retrieve it.

They were now in Orbin’s main haunt: They were inside the side of the mountain of rocks. Orbin has carved into the side of the mountain to create a perfect home complete with a mini indoor fountain and a swimming pool. Tiny Rainbow coloured fish swam in the base of the fountain. Orbin fed the two flying unicorns (Bessy and Skylar) the Nymreed, the two unicorns ate it hungrily. It had a crunchy sound. Mahali went and brought some of the Nymreeds over. “Here try it,” she said eating it herself with crunchy sounds.

Little Sapphire pushed the thick bushes out of the way and crawled under. A few thorns pricked her and the stony ground hurt her knees, but she didn't give up. She looked around but she couldn't find her pet bunny. Her mother got her a little pinkish-white bunny with a magenta heart gem on her forehead and pretty pink eyes. She wasn't an ordinary bunny, of course. Her mother told her she'd get to know what kind of bunny she is when the gem on her forehead takes its final colour. Sapphire had been taking care of the bunny for six months. Just three more months before she transforms.

I nod and force a smile, rubbing my stomach, even though it’s not big enough to seem like I’m pregnant yet, I know there’s a baby in there. “We stood there, looking at this brilliant blue waterfall that cascaded down the side of the mountain and spilled into this big pool at the bottom. The water was blue, but it was also clear, and we could see the rocks at the bottom. They looked like volcanic rocks, they were black and dark gray. But they weren’t sharp. Like the water had dulled them or something, and there were all of these big, beautiful fish in a rainbow of colors swimming around. It was amazing!”

Every colour of the rainbow, and colours that don’t even exist on earth, shine brightly in the sky, each one standing out proudly, yet blending amongst the others harmoniously accompanied by balls of twinkling light that sparkle in the sky reminding me of my sweet Firefly. All around us are luscious palm trees mingling amongst birds of paradise and bleeding heart flowers, but nothing like on earth. The palm trees here are in stunning shades of turquoise, the birds of paradise are a lilac purple with an ethereal glow, and the bleeding heart flowers are an iridescent neon pink that light up.
