He underestimates me. The door to his office creaks open, the final sound I need. I’m quick to follow, a silent specter in the darkened halls, each step careful, precise. I let him lead me out, my senses flaring with the thrill of the hunt. He's a shadow ahead of me, a blurred outline against the walls. I hang back, close enough to track him, far enough to stay unseen.

I pushed the door open and ice cold wind howled from the darkness . Then I was driving along an endless dark country road in my cab. But not alone. The back seat was packed with . . . ten? Twelve? "I am here to take care of your enemies... You don't have to do your hands dirty." She is already in my dark world but I don't want her to get consumed by it. This darkness shouldn't dim her light.
