Dear Ex, See you never
I watch the tension finally leave Damon's body, the mask finally cracking, the grief finally finding somewhere safe to land.
I watch them for a moment then I join them.
The three of us stand in the foyer of a mansion built on secrets, wrapped around each other, grieving separately and together. Josh is asleep upstairs. The staff have discreetly vanished, and the world outside is still spinning, still gossiping, still trying to turn our pain into content.
But in here, there's just us. This is my life now. The contradiction, the performance and the truth. The exhaustion of visibility and the relief of coming home to people who see me, really see me, and love me anyway.
