I scanned the room and saw four other girls like me, with our body covered with thin, transparent fabric. I gritted my teeth as I thought of how to free myself from the alpha of Blood Moon’s pack, but just then I heard footsteps approaching the room. “We must do as he says, if we ever want to end this war and get back our soldiers that he is holding captive.” A voice said.

I feel something skitter over my foot, then my leg, then the sharp, gnawing bite of their claws scraping against my skin.

Nicole had been reading for so long that her whole body felt stiff, so she got up and stretched. Then, through the balcony glass, she suddenly spotted three rats gathered around the section of stainless steel mesh they had chewed through the night before. They were openly gnawing at the glass, and the rat poison nearby had already been cleaned out.
