I went to bed that night in anticipation of a dead rat but I woke up the next morning, and the fish was missing but I could perceive no stench smell. I began to notice their presence after I returned from the burial but I had never seen the rat until the moment I met it speeding on the hallway and I dodged towards my room door like I was the one trespassing on its land. It was a huge rat. Maybe it was referred to as Mancho in its land, maybe it even worked out. It was just that huge. It sped to the kitchen. I called Tunde immediately. I knew rats do not bite but I always jumped at the sight of it.

Stefano would not, would he? Lilliana moves expertly through the maze of tunnels. She leads us down one floor and I immediately know we are heading towards the kitchen. The same thing happened to its belly and tiny legs. It swelled and its color morphed into crimson.

The disgusting Ratman’s rusty, jagged sword struck the heavy kite shield over and over. Sparks flew with each blow as the barely-sharp blade left tiny scars and scratches in its wake. The Ratman itself was a fetid, disease-ridden beast-like humanoid. Its fur was matted, its muscles were sinewy, and its eyes were beady. It stank of the ripe combination of urine and rotting meat. How its weapons and armor didn’t disintegrate from direct contact was a complete mystery.

Carson had his eyes wide open as sweat entered his eyes burning and reddening them, afraid to miss something, especially with the flickering lights. Reaching his short but long destination, Carson pulled back the machine with all his strength. That was when he saw it. “Ahhh!” He screamed out loud and backed up until he tripped on an object and fell. Anderson was right. It was a rodent. A huge rat the size of a football. Its black fur glowing with lights. It stopped what it was munching on and looked up threateningly with its red eyes at the intruder that had just ruined its meal.

She had been ready for months. Charmaine raised the basket and all alphas fell silent. She opened it and took out a small creature who had been dyed bright green. Purple or red would have shown easier, so she'd chosen a color that would add to the difficulty while still being unnatural enough to mark it. It was a rat but a small one, a creature that was ready to run. Megan knew this kind of rodent, they were rarely eaten because they were quick, and didn't give much meat for all the hassle they were to catch. She tensed.

The rat stops moving at once. But then it starts to gasp and move in jerky movements like Hyperion did. Its skin soon gets ripped like Hyperion did too, and the fur coming out of the rat has the same rough texture. It squeals, but it almost feels like it’s not out of pain. It’s almost like the rat is having fun with it. It even hisses and snaps at me. The pieces are starting to come together now. Drake injects a different liquid into the rat, turning it back into its normal snippy self. Our eyes meet.

Lei Bao went around rampaging savagely with his lightning-based magic as if he was a lightning storm himself, moving towards a bunch of giant mountain rats right after dispatching the pack of hyenas. These mutated rodents looked horrifyingly large, being at least one meter long, and their long incisor teeth, sharper than even the keenest blade, gnashed against each other, ready to grind and chew on human bones. Scores of warriors had fallen with their limbs being bitten off or maimed while fighting them.
