Forbidden Old Melody Novels & Stories

The melody echoed in the car, and Frade listened to the song as he drove. "Even the oldest songs can never be forgotten as long as they are stored in memory," he said to himself after the song ended. "People should move on." To prevent him from remembering things about me, I pressed the button. A song by Taylor Swift rings out. All of the girls you loved before. "See, new things always replace old things," I said, humming to the music. He didn't speak. I saw a complicated look in his eyes. The car entered the city and went to a super-mall. Frade got out of the car and led me straight to the top floor.

"Miss Selene has offered us the sun. Does anyone care to offer the moon?" The shadows stirred. I stood. No white of a Saintess. No gold of a Princess. Every eye tracking as I descended the steps toward the obsidian piano. "The Morning Star is a beautiful lie." My voice cut through the lingering sweetness like a razor. "I prefer the truth of the night. I will perform 'The Lament of the Forsaken.'" The atmosphere collapsed. "Lumira, wait." Selene's voice tight with motherly concern. "That dirge was forbidden after the Great Purge. It's too unstable."

“Songs are edited.” Murmurs followed. Uneasy. Defensive. “You accuse us of lies?” a councilwoman asked. “I accuse you of comfort,” I said. “Comfort over truth.” Kieran shifted closer. “Show us.” I nodded once. “Bring the old verses. The ones you don’t teach.” Silence stretched. Then the white-haired elder spoke. “There are verses that were sealed.” “Unseal them,” I said. A younger elder protested. “They are forbidden.” “For a reason,” I said. “Bring them.”

ITALIC "What is happening? What's the old lady saying, my queen?" "Infinity, I have a favor for you." "Of course, anything, my queen." "Can you transfer some of your magic energy to that girl?" "What? Why?" "You see. She lived a very difficult life all this time. I bet you can't feel any magic energy in her, that is because she doesn't have any and for that reason she was judged. I still don't remember anything, but someone I met while my soul was still wandering in dimensions told me about you and all he knows about the both of us. I'm really sorry for not remembering you, for everything, and for this."

She isn’t putting my feelings into consideration. But can I blame her? It’s my fault after all, I fell in love with the wrong person, I fell in love at the wrong time. If only I had met her earlier. “No reason?” Miquel smacks my shoulder. “We aren’t meant for each other.” I gulp down the remaining contents of my drink. I thought I asked for the strongest liquor here? Why the heck isn’t it doing anything to me? I hoped that if I was intoxicated I’d be able to get Mia out of my mind, or maybe the pain I feel will go away so why isn’t it working?

Wyatt heard a man’s voice say. “NO! It’s your fault thinking that covering money that was never going to be directly touched by her in your energy would actually work, It’s not my fault you and your siblings are so damn stupid. It’s really amazing that Abaddon lets you even attempt to collect souls.” That time it was Daniel.

He pulled me in for a hug. I did not spend the rest of the party obsessing over the fact that Liam and Alex were leaving. What I did was enjoyed myself and dance so freely that even the kids were embarrassed by me. Forbidden means that you can not have something or someone. And historically and by Beacon's values, I could not have a couple of things; like an omega having a good and successful life, and a she-wolf falling in love and getting married to a demon. But I made that sh*t happen. I did that. Lara Zane Meyer did that!

Then I recalled Angy's effort and suppressed my overwhelming emotions. Angy has done an incredible job on me. Besides, I didn't want to run late for my wedding day. No bride keeps a groom waiting on purpose. Other than the walk down the aisle. I've never heard a bride delay her wedding deliberately. Not unless it is a fixed reunion. My reunion with Jerry is natural. Flawless... Nobody forced us to fall in love with each other—we allowed nature to take its place. A love that is found naturally lasts. I want something that will last. A man that I won't regret spending the rest of my life with. In sadness, sickness, and old age... Lol... the wedding vows should be edited to capture old age.

My mind wandered on their previous confession. They needed assistance from military forces to invade Black Mafia's territory. A piece of memory was flaunting in my mind. Military? D Nation? Then I remembered something. My eyes widened apart before an unexpected smile came on my lips. If I could dive into more thoughts,Dylan sent me a reminder, " Get inside the car. What are you standing for?" I snapped out of my thoughts and hopped into the car hurriedly. We drove back to the mansion within a short moment. Dylan seemed utterly frustrated and ignored my existence like air.

Marks in the margins that were not musical at all unless music was a language that had gone feral and learned to write curses. “What do you think?” Jamie asked, brightness turned down by awe. “It’s… weird. Like it wants to be pretty and then keeps remembering it knows other tricks.” “It’s not tuned to our piano,” I said. “It’s tuned to a room. Or a throat.” I drew a gloved finger over the notes without touching them. The melody wanted to slip sideways into a scale I only recognized because I’d heard it in my bones in a basement—the shape of a song, not the sound. “Photograph every page. We’ll log it as atypical notation.”
