The light caught its face. It had no face. Just smooth, pale skin stretched over a skull that seemed too flat, too wide. Where the mouth should have been, there was a dark vertical slit. It opened when the figure spoke, revealing rows of small, needle-sharp teeth. "Thank you for inviting me in," it said. “It’s me, HONEY.” Leo tried to run. He scrambled toward the stairs, but the figure moved faster. It blocked the doorway, standing between Leo and the light. Its thin arms reached out.
