After entering the library, I closed the door behind me and locked it to ensure no unwanted invasion. I walked to the farthest corner of the library where there was a small collection of books with their covers engraved in gold designs. My eyes wandered over the books before halting onto the one with black leather cover. It didn’t stand out much compared to other books but one glance at the pages inside and it is enough to catch anyone's attention.

I opened it and found myself entering a smaller version of the library downstairs. There was no swirling staircase going up, up, up, rather walls full of books, some of which were only accessible via the sliding ladder off to the side. With my stomach full and heart heavy, I waltzed over to one of the shelves and scanned them, intending to pick a book at random. One in particular drew my eye. The cover was made of dark leather, embossed with a swirling gold font that was a bit hard to read. Tendrils of flame, interwoven with threads of shadow, danced up the spine and around the back.

"No, no, no, we all have our specialties. Actually, I was hoping you could teach me a few things. Would you be willing to come over to my place sometime?" We exchanged a look, both of us sharing an unspoken understanding. "Percy, have you ever heard of a close, private circle that focuses on nurturing women's tractability?" Franklin led me to his house, and we sat in his bedroom as he asked me this question. I couldn't help but smile. He was a literature professor, all right. She moved deeper into the library, toward the older shelves at the very back where the books looked like they had not been touched in years. And then she saw it. It was a large book, wider than her arm's length and bound in something dark that looked like old leather. The writing on the spine was faded, the letters curled in an ancient style she almost could not read. But she made out two words clearly enough. Pack Origins. She pulled it from the shelf carefully, the way one would handle something that might fall apart if handled wrong. She carried it to the small reading table in the corner and set it down. The wood groaned under its weight.

I headed toward the back room and started looking for the box she'd mentioned. I was curious why those books weren't allowed to be read freely. Was it because they were old? I opened the box and found several old books with dark brown, tan, reddish, and primarily black leather covers, each with a unique texture. The titles were stamped in faded gold lettering. There were about ten thick books in total. It almost slipped out of my hands when I picked up the last one. It fell to the floor, landing face up to reveal the title: "The Dark History of the Maximillian Kingdom."

The library’s floor is polished, and it has a granite fireplace and a comfortable, well-worn sitting arrangement. I heave a sigh, relieved that Ms. Lennie isn’t around to reprimand me. I’ve always loved reading and collecting romance books at home, so seeing these shelves just makes my heart soar. I start my journey inside, searching for cookbooks. It’s the only thing left of her in this house.” Leah’s brow lifted. “Good, that should give me something. Thanks Rachel, I’m out.” With that, she left the cellar and went straight to the library. She followed Racheal’s directions and reached for the book. It was covered in dust and cobwebs. Leah coughed as the dust filled the air, restricting her lungs.
